Tons of options and variety every single night with top notch service. Location is also great. Takes about 4 mins to walk to the haram (near the extension, I used to go to gate 66 which was very close). Just walk straight through Hilton convention hotel for the quickest route. But they even have a free shuttle service to get you to the haram which literally runs all day and night at every 5 minutes. Literally, every 5 minutes. Read less

The hotel location is perfect and very convenient, especially for getting around easily. That said, don’t expect a perfect Haram view it’s good to manage expectations there. The buffet staff were kind and helpful, and service was smooth. A couple of things worth noting for future guests: • Zain mobile network does not work well inside this hotel, so it’s not worth purchasing if you’re staying here. • If you’re hoping for early check-in, be aware that there is an extra fee. This is my second stay at the DoubleTree Makkah hotel….. First one was in October 2024 and it was a positive experience, my second stay was in August 2025, and it wasn’t the same as my first one DoubleTree is a new and comfortable hotel. The team is cooperative, kind, and welcoming, which is something that truly stands out compared to many other hotels in Makkah. However, there are a few important areas that require improvement: 1. Mattresses: The mattresses are extremely soft, which is quite unusual for a newly opened hotel. It raises the question — how did the mattresses lose their firmness so quickly? Unfortunately, this caused back pain during our stay. 2. Housekeeping & Cleanliness: We stayed for 6 nights, and during that time, the bed sheets and duvet covers were never changed. Housekeeping standards need to be raised significantly. Even basic cleaning such as vacuuming the floor was not done during our stay. 3. Breakfast: The breakfast is boring and repetitive, with almost no variation day to day. There’s no interesting food presentation or appealing options. The quality is quite basic, and no premium items are offered at all. It got to the point where my children decided not to eat breakfast, and my husband and I would skip it if we were tired, as it simply wasn’t worth waking up for. Despite these points, the hotel remains comfortable, and the price is reasonable compared to other hotels in Makkah. I highly recommend booking through a Saudi travel agency, as their prices are significantly better than what is available on hotel booking websites. 4. Panda Supermarket: A major convenience is that there is a Panda supermarket accessible directly from the hotel lobby. This was extremely useful, as we didn’t need to go out to other supermarkets near the Haram. You can easily do your shopping right from the hotel, which adds great value to the stay. 5. Hotel Towers: The hotel consists of two towers — Makkah Tower and Madinah Tower. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend choosing the Madinah Tower over the Makkah Tower. It was more for better view ⸻ Tips for Accessing the Haram: It is advisable to head to the Haram 45–60 minutes before prayer time. The hotel offers a shuttle bus that runs for about 3 minutes and drops you near the elevator of Souq Al-Khalil in the Jabal Omar area. From there, it’s a short walk to the Haram via Ibrahim Al-Khalil Street. Another and in my opinion better route is to enter the Hilton Convention Hotel, which is opposite DoubleTree. From the Hilton lobby, there is a direct elevator access to the Haram. This option is more convenient than the hotel’s bus service, especially since the mall elevators are often small and crowded Read less

We promised to make up for our terrible experience by booking in a prestigious high profile hotel, our choice was Hilton Double Tree Jabal Omar. Location: Was great all in all compared to other hotels, it’s approximately 500 meters away from the haram. Rooms: Our room was pretty pristine and clean, so dirt was to be found, the beds and sheets were spotless. The view from the windows was mesmerizing. Service: Service was great, no complaints at all. The staff are very attentive to the needs of the guests. Restaurant: Food was palatable and good, but nothing special. It does lack variety, it could use more protein. The restaurant staff were very kind, we want to give a huge shoutout to Saddam, he was very cooperative and caring. Read less

I’m so grateful for the excellent service and the great welcoming attitude from all hotel staff especially Ms. Mardia in reception and Islam in concierge. The hotel is relatively new. It is beautiful and the staff are courteous. The staff do their best to make the clients happy. The negative thing here is that there's a constant stench from the drainage holes in the bathrooms, it's very disgusting. It's a short walk to the Haram and the hotel pro ides a bus shuttle to convey the elderly as well. The shuttle isn't reliable however and clients have to join the shuttle for the nearby Marriot and Hilton hotels. It would be good if the management can work harder on the housekeeping service and the rooms aren't exceptionally cleaned by the staff. I'm not even sure the housekeeping staff use an hoover there's dirt on the floor. I had to request a room change due to cleanliness. Y Read less

Great location but poor customer service, room service, zero to non housekeeping service non existing. Don’t even know where to start from. Called the house keeping for broken Tv remote control never changed it. So the children never get use the TV. Order food from the room service that was my mistake. I should have never order from the room service. They mixed up order. Served me one item at a time. Please people order from outside or eat outside they serve you left over food from the night buffet, Bad and rotten food. Whomever managing this hotel have no clue on food and service. GM needs knowledge of food and service. Very bad experience. I am definitely not going back to this hotel. My next visit I will stay somewhere else. Read less

A very disappointing experience, in terms of looks and feel the hotel is nice. The lobby always smells nice when entering and there are several lifts to get you to the required floor. The biggest disappointment has been the actual rooms, the electricity has been deliberately wired in a way to make it hard for people to sleep or charge their devices. This means in order to have power to the sockets and charge your devices, you will need to keep the rooms lights on, obviously this makes it so uncomfortable after a long day in the masjid, you just want to come back and relax with just one lamp on and devices on charge to communicate with your loved ones. We also had several issues with our bathroom, with clogged shower & sink drain, and toilet flushing issues. To top it off we had some water leak in the bathroom from the roof, this had me worried as I did not know if this water is clean or not, and could it get mixed electrical wiring and cause a fire. This is clearly not a 5 star hotel more like a 3/4 star. The hotel chain should be ashamed of making things difficult for the guests of Allah, instead of making things easier. Electrical charging points should be a standard feature in any hotel chain, never mind one that classes itself as 5 star. The beds are smaller than expected, especially when compared to the single beds we had at Pullman Zam Zam Makkah. The location is great as it is only 3-4 mins to get to the masjid and is ideal for ladies as it closer to their entry points by gate 339. Unfortunately I would NOT use this hotel again, purely because of the deliberate inconvenience it has caused with its intentional electrical wiring design. Read less

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was booked for 3 people and all three beds were comfortable. The location was great, you cross the road and the woman’s gate is right there which was super convenient. Plenty of shops around for food/shopping. Breakfast was okay, could be better in terms of variety but not that bad. The hotel is easily accessible for uber which made travelling further out convenient. The staff were lovely and helpful. I would recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling with a lot of women. Read less

While my stay wasn’t bad, I was shocked to discover that the hotel used my name to post a detailed positive review on Booking.com—something I never wrote! (Screenshot of the review they wrote is attached here). This is completely unacceptable and has never happened to me before. It raises serious concerns about how they maintain such a high rating (9 on Booking.com) despite being a fairly average hotel. If this is how they operate, I cannot recommend them. Read less

This place is inside the ring road. Attitude of reception and security is bad. The property insists on payment even if you have the option of free cancellation after so many days claiming they don't have the option of getting the payment using the credit card. They agree to provide you with free parking and turn a deaf ear once you reach. Housekeeping people are dedicated to their work. Walkability to the masjid and to the female praying area are a huge bonus. Asian food options outside the property are too bad. Read less

The rooms don't have charger outlets and for those which are having lamps, if you put your charger it will stop charging once you switch off the lights. Ongoing noises coming from the AC vents, room door malfunction noise, water pipe bubbling from the toilet, it's like you are sleeping in a haunted hotel, once you go out of the room it looks good. The buffet was good, but not authentic cuisine, they had hummus which was not atlal authentic, seemed like you are eating something else . Like who goes wrong with the humus when the chef is arab . Rather than changing the room the kept us 1 hour waiting. The only good thing is the location to Haram but better avoid it as there are plenty of other hotels in the area.
