Our stay at Hotel Tilal Al Kaaba was unfortunately not what we expected. Several things made the experience disappointing: 1. Too much back and forth to adjust our booking. It took 3-4 days to get their cooperation to adjust our 1 day booking, even though I told them that it is very urgent to adjust as soon as possible. I had to call Booking.com and then call Tilal several times. This coordination should be done by the hotel and the agent, not me. 2. Serious issue with passport and visa . My mother forgot her passport and visa in the room after checkout. The cleaner found them and even shared a photo in the hotel’s WhatsApp group, but nobody contacted us. We had to come back twice and ask several times before they finally admitted they had the documents. For something as important as passports, the hotel should contact guests immediately. This is not acceptable for a five‑star hotel. 3. Wrong room on arrival. We were given a triple room instead of the twin room with a partial Haram view that we booked. 4. Missing basic items. No prayer mat, no fridge, and when we asked for cold water, they told us to buy it from the restaurant. Only after we complained did they send cold water. A hotel charging $300 a night should provide these things without hesitation. 5. No clear information about the shuttle service, even after I told the receptionist that we got lost trying to find the hotel. I appreciate the staff and their hard work, and I am thankful for their efforts. But this is not five‑star service. At best, it felt like a 3 star experience. For the price we paid, it was not worth it, and I don’t plan to stay here again. Tilal has a lot of room to improve, and if they do, maybe we will return in the future, inshAllah. Read less

We recently stayed at the Tilal Jabal Makkah Hotel for our Omrah and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The **location is simply unbeatable**. Being right next to the King Salman Gate of the Masjid al-Haram means you are literally minutes from the Kaaba. It made performing prayers, especially for *Tawaf* and *Sai*, so convenient and stress-free, especially with family. Despite this prime location, the hotel offers a **very reasonable price**, making it one of the best value-for-money options in the immediate Haram area. You truly cannot beat this combination. What truly made our stay memorable, however, was the **exceptional service from the staff**. A special and huge thank you to **Najwan**. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional from the moment we arrived. She assisted us with our requests efficiently and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Her dedication and warm hospitality are a true credit to the hotel. For anyone looking for a comfortable stay with direct Haram access, a great price, and a team that cares, I highly recommend the Tilal Jabal Makkah Hotel. Room service food was decent, and the portion sizes were satisfactory. 3) The breakfast buffet tasted good and was well organised and clean. 4) The front desk staff, however, were quite dismissive and did not seem very accommodating when it came to guest needs. 5) If you are travelling with elderly parents with weak knees, or if you yourself have difficulty walking on inclines, this hotel is not recommended. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed thanks to the kind, professional, and always-smiling staff who were ready to assist us at any time. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable. We would especially like to highlight that the most comfortable king-size beds we have ever slept in are in this hotel – providing perfect rest after long days of worship and sightseeing. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is peaceful, elegant, and warm. Everything is at a very high level – from cleanliness and service quality to organization and attention to guests’ needs. The location is also very convenient and makes الوصول to Al Haram easy and stress-free. My experience at Shaza Almonawara Hotel was very disappointing. Unfortunately, it did not meet the expectations of a hotel of this category. The room condition was not satisfactory, especially the bed, which was uncomfortable and not properly prepared. Cleanliness and overall room setup did not reflect the standards I was expecting. One of the most frustrating issues was that there were no towels or slippers provided in the room upon check-in. When I requested them from housekeeping, my request was rejected instead of being handled professionally. This level of service is unacceptable, especially for guests visiting Madinah for a peaceful and comfortable stay. Customer service should be a priority in hospitality, but sadly that was not my experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves room quality and service standards for future guests. Read less

I recently stayed at Shaza Almonawara in Madina for 8 days, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Throughout our entire stay, no one came for room service or cleaning, and the washrooms remained dirty. The hotel had a drinking water dispenser on each floor, but once the water bottle was empty, instead of replacing it, they removed the entire dispenser. This meant there was no access to drinking water inside the hotel, and guests were forced to buy water from their canteen, which felt quite unfair and unprofessional for a hotel of this category. Additionally, the staff was extremely rude and uncooperative. Any concerns or requests were met with poor attitude and no willingness to help. Overall, this stay did not meet even the basic standards of hospitality and comfort. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and respectful stay in Madina. Read less

The experience fell far short of expectations; it was extremely disappointing, with unprofessional staff who seemed more focused on stacking guests and generating bills than providing quality service. Upon check-in, although the room had been cleaned, it had a strong, unpleasant odor that forced us to quickly drop our bags and leave in hopes of dissipating the smell, which unfortunately lingered throughout our four-day stay. The air conditioning unit was leaking water all night. When I reported the issue in the morning, I anticipated it would be resolved by the time we returned. Despite visiting the front desk three times, the problem remained unaddressed until around 11 PM, when a technician finally arrived to clean the unit, which had a severely clogged filter. I found myself having to guide him on how to perform his job. While waiting for the housekeeper, who took 15 minutes to arrive, I ended up cleaning the room myself using their mop. Additionally, the refrigerator emitted a foul odor that made us hesitant to open it even once. Overall, our four-day stay was a nightmare, but I felt trapped by my pre-booking and lacked the time to seek alternative accommodations due to my schedule and time constraint. next time i would rather delay my trip than booking such place. i wonder how Ministry of tourism is seeing it all. We trusted and paid, then the booking slip provided by him was via an agency of Pakistan,and not showing the amount they took from us. When I asked about this issue. He said the voucher will be provided when my sister will reach there. My sister reached and Upon asking again and again.... They didn't provided us the booking voucher... The person who booked it was disappeared and the agent whose account was used for booking closed his number. Manager of the hotel was unaware and said that the room was booked via Pakistan... Not from reception. We found out the current rates and it was 4 times cheaper than the money they took from us on name of Ramadan. I will request all the people who are thinking to book it please beware of scammers standing at their reception. These people are not afraid of Allah, even in the holy month of Ramadan... We will never forgive them... In sha Allah they will be accountable on the day of judgment. The hotel was 1 star with extremely bad service and pathetic people there. On Thursday night I called the hotel to make sure the reservation was still valid. I pointed out that I was aware that I had to pay for the night I was not there. I spoke on the phone with a gentleman who, after receiving my reservation number, confirmed that nothing would be cancelled. the reservation would still be valid until my arrival tomorrow. The next day, Friday at noon, I showed up at the hotel and a very rude man told me that my reservation had been canceled because I hadn't made the payment. he told me that I could make a new reservation, but not at the price I had made through booking some time ago. A new higher price of course. We don't have parking, he said. That man is very rude in communication. I was extremely irritated, but it was Friday prayer time and I left for prayer for almost 30 minutes. After I returned again, Mrs. Jana was waiting for me at the reception. A completely different behavior, she made me a new reservation with my previous price, and did not include the night in which I was absent... She told me that they also had a parking lot but at a daily cost of 50 rials, great, I told her... I gladly accepted. But Ms. Jana did not bill me for parking for two days of staying at the hotel. Stayed there no night during one of the busiest time. Best hotel experience simpley because the management care about guest comfort. From the ladies at check in to room service to other staff they all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and comfortable. Location is great and loads of food places near by. Very nice hotel I liked it but there are some points to be taken care of. And this is why I gave 3 stars. The parking lot is very very tiny. American cars will be very hard to get in. The design (the engineers did not think of the big cars who are traveling to this place) is for small cars only. The other thing is that the rooms are little small. The room service could be better. The people who are cleaning the rooms will not care about the sign of do NOT disturb. They open up the door when you are asleep!!!! The last thing I want to mention is Tips.. What I didn't like is the narrow parking lot and how is very few. Another thing that bothered me is the electricity outlets in the room. I stayed a night at Shaza Almadina and it’s a walking distance to king Fahad gate. The room was a little smaller than The usual five stars hotels. The bed is big and comfy and the design is very hijazi region style. The air conditioner was a bit noisy. The receptionist was very friendly and had interesting chat with him and I checked early.
