The hotel’s location was convenient and made getting around very easy. However, the overall stay was disappointing due to poor room service and housekeeping. The room itself was not well maintained and basic services were lacking. We had to ask multiple times for towels, and they were only provided two days later. Housekeeping also informed us that the hotel only had around 10 towels available for 40 rooms and just one iron for the same number of rooms, which explains the delays but is clearly not acceptable for guests. Unfortunately, the level of service did not meet expectations. We stayed here last year and it was a lot better but now its gone poor but the price has gone up

Excellent location. Food also very nice. But service on check in was bad by reception and manager mansoor nowhere to b seen.. We booked a Quad room to check in 22Feb26. We arrived at hotel at 2am on 23Feb. We paid for the night on 22nd feb. We got a room on 23rd at 7am. 5 hours waiting in hotel. And the room We gt was a triple instead of what we booked a quad. Mansour the manager is nowhere to b found and all the reception staff abdullah , amira ect continue to say that they will fix room after next prayer well: they brought a 4th bed in a triple room. But the room is too squashed. Why can't We get the Quad room we paid for. And the fact that they gave wrong room and it's already 2 nights of the 6 night. Seems like they not willing to fix. Service needs a shake up. Bathroom cleanliness is bad. As the bathrooms don't seem properly cleaned. Guest relation did finally call aft 3 days to check if all OK. There Quad rooms were full..we had to settle for triple with extra bed

I recently stayed at Emaar Grand in Makkah and overall had a decent experience. The hotel is around a 10-minute walk to the Haram, depending on your pace and how busy it is. The walk is mostly flat, which makes it manageable even during peak times. There are plenty of grocery stores and food outlets surrounding the hotel, so finding essentials or a quick meal is very convenient. Taxis are also easily available nearby, which is especially helpful if you’re heading to Masjid Aisha. The hotel has a good number of lifts, but they can take a while due to the high volume of guests. The rooms are fairly basic, which is expected for a hotel of this standard, but they are comfortable enough for a short stay. The cleaning staff were generally very good and attentive. However, I did have to repeatedly request bathroom cleaning, which was a bit frustrating. I didn’t have much interaction with reception, so I can’t comment much on their service. They also offer a cleaning service for a fee, which takes a couple of hours. Overall, it’s a practical option if you’re looking for a reasonably located hotel close to the Haram with plenty of nearby amenities.

Honestly had one of the worst experiences with staff at this hotel. We had 3 rooms and stayed there for a week. On my first day the receptionist Motaz Ahmed helped me in ensuring that all 3 of our rooms were on the same floor. After that all experiences with the staff were awful. 1. First the rooms handed over to us had no soup, no slippers, no iron, and no towels. Can you imagine walking into a room with all those basic things missing. We tried complaining but the phones didnt work. I had to go downstairs and they provided towels within a few hours and soup, the next day. Still no slippers and iron. 2. Next morning, the tables were sticky and dirty when we went for breakfast/sahour. The staff responsible for cleaning certainly werent doing their job properly. 3. After that when Ramadan started, I had to extend my rooms' stay and it was a nightmare. The people at the reception werent helpful neither was the reservation office. I had to go back and forth for 3 hours to finally get it sorted. Pathetic. 4. Lastly, when we were checking out and needed a bellman, no one showed up for 30mins. Eventually, I had to drag the trolley myself and get my bags downstairs for which they started asking me questions as to why I did it. When your pathetic staff wont do their jobs, we the guests would have to do it. Good food but pathetic staff!!

My stay at the Emaar Grand Hotel was very pleasant. The hotel is well located, clean, and comfortable, making it a great choice for visitors in Mecca. The rooms were neat, and the overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming. I would especially like to thank Mootez Ahmed for his excellent service. He was professional, kind, and always ready to help, which made my experience even better. I highly recommend this hotel and appreciate the great hospitality.

It’s a nice hotel with good facilities and overall a pleasant atmosphere. But breakfast juices are crap. There were minor problems in bathroom but maintainace team sorted. However, one major issue I noticed is with the management. If you are not Arab, they tend to treat you differently — for example, asking you to sit in a separate seating area, even though we are all paying the same. This kind of behavior felt discriminatory and unfair. I hope the management improves in this regard, because apart from that, it could really be an excellent place for everyone.

Assalamu Alaykum, Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay here. The two biggest issues for me were the food and the cleanliness of the room. The buffet looks endless but has no taste. Even the viennoiseries were disappointing. The elevator works well and is easily accessible, and I noticed that the hotel entrance—though a bit dark—is being cleaned regularly, which gave me some comfort. But the room itself was the biggest letdown. From the first moment I entered, it felt dirty. The carpet was not clean, the air was stuffy, and even the bottles of water had dust on them, showing they had been sitting there for a long time. The closet and chandelier were also dusty and not well maintained. To be fair, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious enough for three people. However, the lack of cleanliness overshadowed everything else. For me, this was very disappointing, and I would not want to stay here again.

We are currently staying here, in room 430 and we are very pleased with the service we have received from staff in this hotel. The cleaners are very attentive, the restaurant area for breakfast has a good variety of food and different food every few days. The room size is good and has everything you need, a hair dryer, towels and bidet. The location is about 10-15 minutes from the haram, depending on how fast you walk but along the way you get to see lots of different shops, which is nice. I am happy with my stay here.

NEVER EVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL. The only hotel in the Emaar group worth staying is Emaar Andalusia. The rest are not trustworthy. I am inclined to give a one star review right at the time of check in. There are two towers of the hotel and only one deals with the online check in. In the reception there are four check in counters out of which two are unattended. The two functional counters are taking one hour per customer literally. There is a big cue but two counters are unattended and the two functioning are extremely extremely slow. Their computer software seems to be stuck. The deputy manager is relaxing on his computer and is rarely helping people. The hotel does not seem to have the physical availability of already booked hotel. The customers have to wait for very long in the check in lounge sometimes along with their children. Waiting time for an average customer is two hours. There were times when there was only one receptionist as the other one went out for fresh air for a very long time. Pathetic service. The hotel needs to be closed. Only one receptionist dealing with the long cue of customers and taking phone calls. No other person at the reception desk. The lifts are highly unsafe and dangerous. No sensors. Your hand can be squished if you squeeze in. The rooms are extremely small with no double beds. Not recommended to anyone.
Loved our visit to makkah. Stayed in emaar grand hotel. Group of 9. Everything was good. Just needed some toilet tiles work. The rest is 5*. Would visit again.

I recently stayed at the Emaar Grand Hotel in Mecca, booking a room advertised for five people. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially larger groups. The room itself was incredibly tight for five beds. We were practically on top of each other, and there was barely any space to move around or store our belongings comfortably. This lack of space made our stay very uncomfortable and frankly, quite stressful. Beyond the cramped quarters, the room service was also severely lacking. On multiple occasions, we tried to contact room service, but the phone simply went unanswered. This made it impossible to request basic necessities or address any issues we had. Considering the high price we paid for this hotel, the level of service and the size of the room were completely unacceptable. It felt like we were significantly overcharged for a very poor experience. If you are planning a trip to Mecca and require accommodation for more than a couple of people, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The Emaar Grand Hotel's cramped rooms and unreliable service are not worth the money or the frustration. Save yourself the disappointment and book a different hotel.

The only nice thing about the hotel is its interior. The hotel facilities were rubbish. The shower cubicle wouldn’t close properly and the water would wet the whole floor in the bathroom. The hair dryer in the bathroom has such low power that it will take you an hour to dry your long hair with it. The bathroom plumbing was horrific, whenever you run water you can smell of the gutter. The room ventilation system seems like it hasn’t been cleaned in years and would definitely make you sick! The place just looks fancy from the interior used but has little to no facilities available. Breakfast was super bland and basic. Didn’t enjoy it at all.

For a 4 star hotel, service was really poor. Consider distance from Haram as well, as it takes about 20 mins from hotel to gate 79 for example. Breakfast was good as we had breakfast included in our booking I'll consider other options (distance from Haram and room service), before booking it again.

Rooms are tight, 4 person bedroom. Service you have asked to get towels, and tip them. The sheets were not charged in total stay of nights. Nice hotel, plenty of lifts. Tra coffee in room with kettle. Plenty of food shops and clothing near bye. Walk to kabab sharif is about 15 minutes.

I am currently staying here and as I am writing this review i’m waiting for maintenance to come because my room power keeps stopping. We have only been here for two days tonight being the third and i am just honestly so ready to go home, which is upsetting. 1) the rooms are decent sized, as far as i know. our room was for three people so there were three beds. Very standard. However, the windows are broken and you can hear EVERYTHING outside. 2) the toilet smells and is always 24/7 hot. It’s very tight and cramped. and once again like every other review we were only given two towels despite being three people. Normally hotels i’ve been to you get at least two towels per person the second one being a smaller towel??! 3) THE LIFTS. If you want clarity and a peace of mind please don’t even consider booking here! There are so many lifts but there are WAYY MORE people. You can wait for the lift for almost 1 HOUR 4) Lastly the distance. It’s not worth your money it’s a long walk and isn’t “5 minutes”! All in all i definitely will not be staying here the only bonus points is the staff excluding reception!

The location is about 7-8 mkns walks from the entrance of haram gate 79 . The hotel itself looks very presentable but rooms are very dated and need refurbishment. Frontbif house need better Customer service skills especially the lady at reception who when posed with a problem seems to uses gestures and arrogance as her way to deal with issues. The gentlemen and the service guys are very helpful and pleasant. Having stayed for a few days with several problems and then room changes this seemed to be common as many other guests had the same issue and same broken promises. For a hotel with ample rooms it seemed like they just couldn't be bothered. Broken telephones broken lights , lack of facilities and 1 iron to use amongst the hundreds of rooms and you won't get one for 3 days and even then you only can use for 1 hr, constant trips to reception but all broken false promises. The good things about the place is it is value for money and you could see that once upon a time it was 5 star but now pushing 3 stars. The location is on Ibrahim al khalil St with plenty of food and shopping available nearby.

Alhamdulillah We arrived on the 24th July 2023 from Malaysia. The lady reception is really nice and polite. She makes the check in process really straight foward and fast for me and my father. May Allah ease her life. The breakfast is good. The hotel is around 10-12 minutes to Haram. Room is big and toilet is clean.Aircond is superb. Wifi also very fast. Im grateful to found this hotel even is not like the nearest or higher star to masjid.. Its still a good and clean room. Also theres a lot of shop/food along the way to hotel from masjid. So you wont be feel like walking far. InsyaAllah will come back.

To be honest when I read the reviews of this hotel I had a different image in my head. But my stay proved the reviews wrong. It was a lovely hotel. House keeping were 5 âï¸. Always helpful, gave everything i needed. Cleaned the room when I asked. Like I said housekeeping were just GREAT. The location of the hotel was in the BEST place. Everything in my convenience and the best thing was that it was just a 10min walk to haram shareef. I will give it 5/5

Terrible service and hotel management. Booked a 4 persons room, it was terrible as the beds were laid out in a very awkward position that left no other space in the hotel room, we barely had enough space to open our suitcases. The hotel management in general is poor, they don't clean the rooms properly. Everytime we ask for water bottles they either only give 2 or don't give any. We had a minor incident where we needed to check the CCTV footage for our floor, it took 3 days for us to finally get somewhere with this. Hotel manager is rude and walked off as we were speaking to him. The reception staff again is incompetent and does not seem to care about anything. The switches are really strange as the sockets are connected to the lights in the room, everytime u want to charge your phone etc u have to keep the light on which is really really strange. The only thing that was decent was the food. Breakfast and dinner items are always fresh and they change the dishes they make quite often . The tables are cleaned frequently and food gets replenished every time it finishes.

It was quite far from Haram, a good 15mins walk. Bathroom had mould and coffee area had sugar and dust all over. When we request to clean the room, everything was still there. Receptionist lady at the Restaurant upstairs on Thursday 23rd February 2023 during dinner time was so rude. She doesn’t have basic manners. I asked nicely if they can heat my kids food, instead of refusing nicely, she pointed me to the door in front of everyone. SO RUDE!

Absolutely awful..!! Worst hotel ever. Starting from reception service to room conditions, everything was way below standard. I can't believe they are rated as 5 star. Totally scammed!! Please don't waste your valuable money. Toilets are so dirty that we had to shift to another room but again no better! Overall, very very poor. Customer service was unacceptable. Also there is no WIFI connection only accessible in ground floor but no access in rooms, the food is quite acceptable Will never recommend this....

Room was not carpeted, sockets were not working or the socket was linked with the table lamp so you don't have option to keep your mobile on charge while you want to keep the table lamp off. Bathroom was not in good condition as most of the time water wasn't flowing out and was gathering in the Bathroom. Staff and services and parking facilities are nice

This is a very good hotel compared to the other hotels in the vicinity. It’s located in Ibrahim Al Khalil street, about 1 Km walk from the Haram (about 15-20 minutes walk depending on your speed). I have booked a quad room. It was spacious, clean and doesn’t smell. It had street view, from the 8th floor, beds and linen were clean, bathroom was well maintained and clean. The room is spacious enough for the needs, there is a kettle and facility to make coffee, and there is a small fridge. Electronic card keys work fine with no issues. There is a small wardrobe / hanger for clothes. The single beds and mattresses are comfortable. I would give this room / hotel an overall rating of 8/10. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Check in was almost seamless with no issues. It did take few minutes longer to check in more than necessary, but compared to other hotels in the region and previous experiences, it was really good.

There is two hotel towers we were in tower A so I don't know about tower B. From the outside, lobby restaurant tower A was 4 star but the room was a little 3 star - no carpet and the bathroom was not as modern for 4 star rating. Also there was no WiFi connection in the room even though we were 4 floors up - only in the lobby could you get a better connection. Breakfast buffet was good.

Good decent hotel. Stayed here with 4 kids in very busy December season. Their facilities are of 4-star Hotel. Room service was excellent guys were there every day offering to clean our room. Lifts are not too busy. The Guys in reception are not very helpful and can be better with their customer service attitude It's a 10-minute straight walk to harm. No uphill or downhill. So was comfortable for kids to walk. They have a separate floor for a restaurant which we didn't use. Floor for Parking and a floor for Prayer hall.

Stayed at Pullman Zamzam Madinah from 13/02/26 to 16/02/26 with my family (one room for four persons). It is a very family-oriented hotel and the location is excellent—very close to Masjid A Nabawi, which made visiting the mosque very easy and convenient. A very helpful service was the bus provided for women to reach the specific gates designated for them to enter the mosque. This made the visit much more comfortable for our family. The stay was pleasant overall. One suggestion for improvement would be to have a sound system in every room connected to Masjid Nabawi so guests can listen to the prayers from their rooms. Overall, it was a very good experience and a great choice for families visiting Madinah.

I had a wonderful stay at Pullman ZamZam Madina. Everything was excellent from check-in to check-out. The location is perfect, just steps away from Masjid an-Nabawi, which made our visit very convenient and peaceful. All the staff members were extremely cooperative, professional, and always ready to assist. I would especially like to appreciate all the Duty Managers for their continuous support and positive attitude. Due to the airspace closure, the Duty Manager kindly granted us a 25% discount, which was a very generous and understanding gesture during a difficult situation. This truly reflects their commitment to guest satisfaction. A special thanks to Ms. Linah from the Guest Relations team. She was very kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and even provided us with a complimentary dates box as a thoughtful gift. Such hospitality and personal attention made our stay even more memorable. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend Pullman ZamZam Madina to anyone visiting Madinah.

I had an exceptional experience at this hotel from start to finish. The property is beautifully maintained, the rooms are spacious and spotless, near to Haram. Every detail — from the elegant interiors to the comfortable bedding — made my stay relaxing and enjoyable. What really stood out was the outstanding service. The staff were professional, courteous, and always ready to assist with a warm smile. I would especially like to mention one of the service providers Mr. Osama Salem who was absolutely excellent — attentive, efficient, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests have the best experience possible. Their dedication made a real difference during my stay. The hospitality, cleanliness, and overall service quality exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and exceptional customer service. I will definitely return!

I recently stayed at Pullman Madina, and I would like to specifically thank the Suhoor breakfast team for their excellent service. During Suhoor time, Mohammad Mohsin and Omar Mohammad took great care of me and my family. They were very friendly, respectful, and always greeted us warmly. Every morning they made sure to bring us tea and regularly checked on our table to ensure we had everything we needed. Their kindness, attentiveness, and respectful manner truly made our Suhoor experience comfortable and special. It was clear that they genuinely cared about the guests and their comfort. We truly appreciate their wonderful hospitality during Suhoor. Thank you for making our stay even more memorable.

I recently stayed at Pullman Zamzam Medina, and I must say the location was excellent and the service was just as impressive. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, offering a wide variety and great quality. The staff truly stood out for their care and attentiveness—especially a waiter named Muhsen. When he noticed I was coughing and coming down with a cold, he kindly brought me hot water with ginger and lemon without me even asking. That thoughtful gesture went above and beyond my expectations. Thank you for the wonderful service!

Stay was good,on arrival we encountered a few complications in terms of persons however guest relations were very helpful and ensured the issue was resolved.as part of my birthday they also upgraded to junior suite. The decor is very outdated however I must say all services are on point and we did not have any issues. Breakfast was very busy but easily flowing and lot of variety. Loved how close Haram was to the hotel and good location especially for the men as the gates to mosque for men were very close! Hotel is lovely staff are amazing and I had a really good stay.

Excellent Stay at Pullman Zamzam Madinah I had a wonderful experience at the Pullman Zamzam Hotel in Madinah. The service throughout our stay was consistently good — from check-in to check-out, the staff were attentive and professional. The rooms are a good size, clean, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable space to relax after a long day. Both breakfast and dinner were impressive, with a wide variety of options that catered to different tastes. A special mention goes to Mahmoud, who provided exceptional service during both breakfast and dinner. His warm and welcoming attitude really stood out and made our meals even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Madinah — great location, excellent amenities, and outstanding hospitality. Let me know if you want it more formal, casual, or in a different tone!

Great hotel, clean and high level service. The receptionists are very professional in dealing with guests. The welcome with a smile was from all the hotel staff. Especially Islam Naji 🩷 The rooms are at the peak of cleanliness and the response of room service to requests was very fast compared to the size of the hotel and the number of rooms. Thanks for the great experience

Excellent place for stay. Rates are reasonable. The staff is most courteous and help. All of them speak English and other languages. Specially the buffet staff provide best experience. Food choices can be improved by adding more Pakistani, sub continent flavor. Rooms are clean but no smoking law us not followed and imposed by the hotel. One if my room was stinking with smoke and they changed it right away. Washrooms seems to need a bit TLC. Over all great experience.

This hotel is a full package. Everything was on point. They have a shuttle bus for the ladies, to make it easier for us to get to the women's section of haram. The location in itself is great. There's plenty of shops nearby, pharmacies, hospital etc all a minutes walk away. The service was great. They would appear moments after a request. Communication was great too. Highly recommend for a comfortable stay, to make your spiritual journey special and memorable.

My father and I had a mixed bag of experiences at this hotel but ended up happy with the stay. When we arrived at the location we were told that there were no rooms at the upper floors. We were given a third floor room that hadn't properly been cleaned. We were then offered a room of the same size on the eighth floor... So obviously they didn't offer the best room to us in the first place. Another problem was that after extending for one day the hotel repeatedly called us insisting that we hadn't paid. It turned out it was a fault in their system. Finally, despite making booking for 2 people, the hotel said only one person could attend breakfast. How, in a room for 2, can you say only one person could attend breakfast? Now, despite all these problems the hotel staff did provide quick solutions and were courteous and apologetic. On the final day the hotel manager called us personally and went above and beyond in apologizing and providing us with ample time to check out. The room itself was not particularly stellar. The beds were fine and I appreciated the complimentary fruits, sweets, water and utilities like iron table, prayer rug, and so on. The bathroom could be better as I really don't like open showers. The roof floor restaurant and the staff working there are excellent. The best thing about this hotel is obviously the location. You can't beat it.

We stayed here for 4 days during a very busy Winter break. Despite the crowds, our experience was very good. Monir from housekeeping made sure that our room was well stocked and everything was clean. I would recommend this hotel based on the excellent customer service.

I have rated this hotel five stars based on earlier experience as I was impressed by the hotel service and the kindness of the staff, in addition to the newness of the hotel and its great location. However, based on my new experience I have taken two stars as it did not meet my expectations this time. The rooms’ furniture deteriorated, and so is the service especially from the reception. We asked for a room upgrade, and were told that no rooms were available although it was obvious that this was not the case, and rooms were available on the Booking. I had to speak to the shift manager to get the room upgrade. The breakfast arrived cold and did not meet the request. The laundry services are very expensive even by hotels’ standard. I am keeping the three stars for two reasons: - the swift response from the shift manager and his kindness in changing the room in a very short time. - the kindness of the housekeeping staff, especially, Suhail Rana.

We did online check in ages ago. Paid in advance. And yet we are here waiting for our room to be prepared while not even given priority for the online check in. We were apologized. Like really? An empty apology? What kind of 5 star hotel is this? A 1star might be better than here. Don't waste your money in staying at this hotel. Better stay at a 1 star. Sadly I have wasted my money here

The stay was lovely. I tried not to report this as an experience in the city of the prophet ,but maybe this will help the management improve the services. The service is quicker and more courteous towards whites compared to others. Though they may have been in the line behind others or at the table, observed this more than once. This may be something that can be looked into. Apart from that the experience was lovely.

My first stay here was really nice. The executive suite my family had booked was spacious and clean. Over time, it has began to become run down. My family and I found the beds in the twin room in the executive suite were extremely soft. I literally was in pain sleeping in that bed. 😞 We found writing and scrabbles on the lamp in the living room, marks and scratches on the wall. More work needs to go into this hotel. On the plus side, it's proximity to the Haram is pretty good. The walk isn't that far. Good exercise 🚶â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ‘Œ

Exceptionally bad hotel. 5 stars? Yes they only charge like a 5 star hotel. The services? Nope. Worst services ever. Despite having checked in online we waited in the queue and finally when it was our turn we were told that the room was not prepared and to wait for 30 more minutes. After waiting for an hour. We were brought to the dirtiest room ever. Dust everywhere. The coffee machine promised was not there. We are 4 adults yet the amenities were for a single person. Despite calling for water and amenities for hours, they ARE NOT RESPONDING! I AM HERE RIGHT NOW and even after complaining to their so called managers, none of them leading me to the real one, they are just making empty promises and doing nothing Please everyone, prefer a 1 star over this one. Trust me you would get better service and cleanliness there for the best price. I am literally being humiliated here for paying such a large amount of money. I'll see if I can attach pics to show the dirtiest of the room

Terrible terrible service, booked for my elderly parents, told they would be in a group with a guide Toyful, he was not with them the entire trip and they were left to figure it out themselves. We were told the guide would even be on same flight hence we booked that specific flight, he was no where to be found. We tried to book expensive package, were advised to book a cheaper one that had hotels further away because the guide said he would be leading that group and would be with them, this did not happen. Many lies were sold to us, wish we had just booked the expensive one. Do not trust these people. Would put zero star if I could.

Booked the deluxe 17 day non shifting package for Hajj 2023 through the Nusuk Hajj website. Alhamdullilah excellent service received throughout. Brother Tofayel was our allocated guide. He was an excellent & thoroughly experienced guide. Realised pretty quickly our mindset had to change, this isn’t like a normal holiday that you’ve spent a huge amount of money on. This whole journey is a test THERE WILL BE DIFFICULTIES IN HAJJ so be warned most definitely your patience will be tested you’ve have been invited by the Almighty to perform Hajj so go with zero expectations. Again this isn’t like a holiday where you spent thousands so you demand & expect an equally high level of service. Things will go wrong, travel logistics will change this is test on how you react when they do. You spend 15K then demand that Allah swt forgives all your sins at hajj. Even if you spent 100k your money would never be worthy of having your sins forgiven. Alhamdullilah changing my mindset to this ensured I had a Fantastic experience with excellent levels of service and attention to detail from Al Bait guests. Would definitely recommend.

We are doing Hajj this year and Hijaz is the partner Nusuk paired us with. I would highly recommend prospective pilgrims to avoid them. There is lack of accountability, communication and organization. I understand hajj poses a lot of logistical challenges due to sheer number of people but that is no excuse for leaving pilgrims in limbo. Just a couple examples: When our flight reached Miqat 20-30 minutes before Jeddah, the pilot announced that we had just passed the miqat point. People were shy to start the Talbiya (Labbayk) and the guides sit there like everybody else. Few minutes later, a passenger took it upon himself walking down the aisle saying Talbiya aloud and encouraging others to join in. When we were doing the umrah the first night we arrived in Makkah, the “religious scholar†they appointed to lead the group in umrah said we are going to offer Tahiyyatul Masjid salah before starting the tawaf which is exactly what many books and workshops I attended said not to do. He later was corrected by someone in the group. Due to lack of communication and planning, lots of people from our group missed staying the night of 11 DhulHajj in Mina and were stuck in Makkah hotels because there was no transportation arrangement. They waited until 11pm to let some people know an alternative way to get to Mina. Those who tried spent the next 5-6 hours trying to get to Mina. Also, instead of communicating these transportation options in the Telegram groups for everyone’s benefit they just announced it one of the hotel lobbies for anyone who might be there. People were desperately asking questions on the group and were ignored. They removed the ability to post text messages to the Telegram group chats in the middle of the hajj. Arafat was another story with many people passing out due to non working A/C in the tents. No transportation was provided on 10th or 11th of DH from Mina or Jamarat back to Hotels. Again, may be understandable due to logistical challenges but there were no communication on what alternatives are there until it was too late. On top of 15,000 we spent on the hajj package people had to pay exorbitant taxi fares to get to and from Mina. It is very clear to me that the guides are not good communicators and they don’t take responsibility. Looks like most Hajj related 5 star comments are from 2022 and because they issued a full refund when people could not go.

I went to Hajj 2023 with Hijaz Travel, and I’m posting a five star review specifically because of Sisters Azra and Salina, and Brothers Kabir/Toufayel. My elderly mother became extremely extremely unwell on Arafat and I knew that I had to get her all the way back to her Makkah accommodations as soon as possible. Not only did they take my mothers condition seriously, they waited with us for hours to make sure we could get back from this restricted area to Makkah. They were also kind and gentle with us the entire time. I will never forget especially how Sister Azra was there for us in our time of need.

I booked hajj 2022 with hijaz, unfortunately due to the last minute changes introduced by the ministry of hajj and uncertainty surrounding the whole process this booking could not go ahead as planned. Hijaz handled this with utmost professionalism and transparency. They responded to queries almost instantly, provided regular updates and kept me in the loop. Upon requesting a refund this was processed with in a couple of days, despite being told it could take 10 days. I am disappointed i wont be undertaking this Trip under the supervision of hijaz, who i believe would have provided a fantastic service. Will definitely consider Hijaz for other travel needs i have in the future.

Alhamdolilah Allah made possible for me and wife to perform Umrah thanks to Hijaz Travel last year in October. For someone who is from North Africa that speaks only Arabic and English my experience was excellent 10/10. Special thanks to Shabbir, Tofayl, Akheel, and the other Bengali brother who went above and beyond Masha’Allah. Going definitely with them again for either another umrah or Haj Insha’Allah. highly recommend. I was worried that because I don’t speak neither Urdu or Bengali that I might find it difficult to coupe with them but Alhamdolilah all went well and here is my experience: Started the process and once I provided them all the documents I was informed on every step needed or actioned by them. Very professionals Masha’Allah. Once dates were confirmed, a WhatsApp group was formed to keep those going up to date on each step. This was very useful as we kept using WhatsApp throughout the journey even after we arrived back to the UK. We had a plan every day and the leaders made sure their group was informed and kept up to date. Now there are few things I want to highlight to Hijaz Travel for the sake of improvement for the future Insha’Allah: 1- it would be better if in Mekka before starting the umrah, for everyone to have the same colour in the form of a bag or something so that the group wouldn’t separate or get lost and follow the leader/group. Some of the brothers like Akheel ( having orange bag ) and another brother ( sorry I forgot your name) who handed couple of green bags helped a lot when doing the Tawaaf as it was easy to identify everyone from the group. 2- when doing Tawaaf please bear with the sisters brothers and don’t rush. Some of the brother/leaders did stay behind to help the sisters which was very much appreciate it. 3- when doing the visits there was both Bengali and English translation but Bengali translation was more favourable. 4- because I was the only native Arabic speaking person in the group, I was approached few times by the hotel staffs both in Makkah and Madenah who raised few things that it bothered them. These are as follows: - when checking in/out please stay in group and don’t block the entrance. - when the bus arrive to pick the group, leaders should identify which bus it is for which group first before telling everyone busses are here! This caused issue as some of the group and staff had to put the heavy suitcases in the first bus, then they were told to remove it all and put it in the second bus. - shouting, arguing and fighting specially in Madinah. people in Madinah are very friendly and they are soft spoken. The hotel manager told me personally “ this is not a Wednesday market, people should not speak that loudly and shout over little things†5- this one is for the individual/group who are going for the umrah, yes I’m talking about you who are reading this review, please do not do the following when in Saudi: - when heading for visits ( Zeyarah), Makkah or Madinah the bus will make short/medium stops to rest or view the visit (e.g. Uhud mountain) the leaders will make it very clear how much time you are allowed to take e.g. 15/30 minutes, you will find people selling all sort of things and you will be tempted to buy few things for your family and friends which you are allowed to BUT do not make everyone waits for you! Just be reasonable. - you are there for a specific purpose to perform umrah/haj. Be prepared to be out of your comfort zone as you might be tired or sleepy and must push forward, please try to make all your prayers at the masjid on time and don’t miss any prayers and du’ua when possible. - buying gifts for family and friends are often cheaper around those visits places that you will attend so have a little bit of patience. - bring bottle of waters with you, backpack and some sunglasses You will thank me later - if you need to wash/dry clean your clothes there are plenty of places in both site who would do that for fair price Ask the hotel or you might see them outside your hotel giving cards. That is all from my end. Thank you regards Abdullahi
