The hotel’s location was convenient and made getting around very easy. However, the overall stay was disappointing due to poor room service and housekeeping. The room itself was not well maintained and basic services were lacking. We had to ask multiple times for towels, and they were only provided two days later. Housekeeping also informed us that the hotel only had around 10 towels available for 40 rooms and just one iron for the same number of rooms, which explains the delays but is clearly not acceptable for guests. Unfortunately, the level of service did not meet expectations. We stayed here last year and it was a lot better but now its gone poor but the price has gone up Read less

We arrived at hotel at 2am on 23Feb. We paid for the night on 22nd feb. We got a room on 23rd at 7am. 5 hours waiting in hotel. And the room We gt was a triple instead of what we booked a quad. Mansour the manager is nowhere to b found and all the reception staff abdullah , amira ect continue to say that they will fix room after next prayer well: they brought a 4th bed in a triple room. But the room is too squashed. Why can't We get the Quad room we paid for. And the fact that they gave wrong room and it's already 2 nights of the 6 night. Seems like they not willing to fix. Service needs a shake up. Bathroom cleanliness is bad. As the bathrooms don't seem properly cleaned. Guest relation did finally call aft 3 days to check if all OK. I recently stayed at Emaar Grand in Makkah and overall had a decent experience. The hotel is around a 10-minute walk to the Haram, depending on your pace and how busy it is. The walk is mostly flat, which makes it manageable even during peak times. There are plenty of grocery stores and food outlets surrounding the hotel, so finding essentials or a quick meal is very convenient. Taxis are also easily available nearby, which is especially helpful if you’re heading to Masjid Aisha. The hotel has a good number of lifts, but they can take a while due to the high volume of guests. The rooms are fairly basic, which is expected for a hotel of this standard, but they are comfortable enough for a short stay. The cleaning staff were generally very good and attentive. However, I did have to repeatedly request bathroom cleaning, which was a bit frustrating. I didn’t have much interaction with reception, so I can’t comment much on their service. They also offer a cleaning service for a fee, which takes a couple of hours. Overall, it’s a practical option if you’re looking for a reasonably located hotel close to the Haram with plenty of nearby amenities. Read less

Honestly had one of the worst experiences with staff at this hotel. We had 3 rooms and stayed there for a week. On my first day the receptionist Motaz Ahmed helped me in ensuring that all 3 of our rooms were on the same floor. After that all experiences with the staff were awful. 1. First the rooms handed over to us had no soup, no slippers, no iron, and no towels. Can you imagine walking into a room with all those basic things missing. We tried complaining but the phones didnt work. I had to go downstairs and they provided towels within a few hours and soup, the next day. Still no slippers and iron. 2. Next morning, the tables were sticky and dirty when we went for breakfast/sahour. The staff responsible for cleaning certainly werent doing their job properly. 3. After that when Ramadan started, I had to extend my rooms' stay and it was a nightmare. The people at the reception werent helpful neither was the reservation office. I had to go back and forth for 3 hours to finally get it sorted. Pathetic. 4. Lastly, when we were checking out and needed a bellman, no one showed up for 30mins. Eventually, I had to drag the trolley myself and get my bags downstairs for which they started asking me questions as to why I did it. It’s a nice hotel with good facilities and overall a pleasant atmosphere. But breakfast juices are crap. There were minor problems in bathroom but maintainace team sorted. However, one major issue I noticed is with the management. If you are not Arab, they tend to treat you differently — for example, asking you to sit in a separate seating area, even though we are all paying the same. This kind of behavior felt discriminatory and unfair. I hope the management improves in this regard, because apart from that, it could really be an excellent place for everyone. Read less

Assalamu Alaykum, Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay here. The two biggest issues for me were the food and the cleanliness of the room. The buffet looks endless but has no taste. Even the viennoiseries were disappointing. The elevator works well and is easily accessible, and I noticed that the hotel entrance—though a bit dark—is being cleaned regularly, which gave me some comfort. But the room itself was the biggest letdown. From the first moment I entered, it felt dirty. The carpet was not clean, the air was stuffy, and even the bottles of water had dust on them, showing they had been sitting there for a long time. The closet and chandelier were also dusty and not well maintained. To be fair, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious enough for three people. The cleaners are very attentive, the restaurant area for breakfast has a good variety of food and different food every few days. The room size is good and has everything you need, a hair dryer, towels and bidet. NEVER EVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL. The only hotel in the Emaar group worth staying is Emaar Andalusia. The rest are not trustworthy. I am inclined to give a one star review right at the time of check in. There are two towers of the hotel and only one deals with the online check in. In the reception there are four check in counters out of which two are unattended. The two functional counters are taking one hour per customer literally. There is a big cue but two counters are unattended and the two functioning are extremely extremely slow. Their computer software seems to be stuck. The deputy manager is relaxing on his computer and is rarely helping people. The hotel does not seem to have the physical availability of already booked hotel. The customers have to wait for very long in the check in lounge sometimes along with their children. Waiting time for an average customer is two hours. There were times when there was only one receptionist as the other one went out for fresh air for a very long time. Pathetic service. The hotel needs to be closed. Only one receptionist dealing with the long cue of customers and taking phone calls. No other person at the reception desk. The lifts are highly unsafe and dangerous. No sensors. Your hand can be squished if you squeeze in. The rooms are extremely small with no double beds. Not recommended to anyone. Read less

I recently stayed at the Emaar Grand Hotel in Mecca, booking a room advertised for five people. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially larger groups. The room itself was incredibly tight for five beds. We were practically on top of each other, and there was barely any space to move around or store our belongings comfortably. This lack of space made our stay very uncomfortable and frankly, quite stressful. Beyond the cramped quarters, the room service was also severely lacking. On multiple occasions, we tried to contact room service, but the phone simply went unanswered. This made it impossible to request basic necessities or address any issues we had. Considering the high price we paid for this hotel, the level of service and the size of the room were completely unacceptable. It felt like we were significantly overcharged for a very poor experience. If you are planning a trip to Mecca and require accommodation for more than a couple of people, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The Emaar Grand Hotel's cramped rooms and unreliable service are not worth the money or the frustration. Save yourself the disappointment and book a different hotel. Read less

The hair dryer in the bathroom has such low power that it will take you an hour to dry your long hair with it. The bathroom plumbing was horrific, whenever you run water you can smell of the gutter. I am currently staying here and as I am writing this review i’m waiting for maintenance to come because my room power keeps stopping. We have only been here for two days tonight being the third and i am just honestly so ready to go home, which is upsetting. 1) the rooms are decent sized, as far as i know. our room was for three people so there were three beds. Very standard. However, the windows are broken and you can hear EVERYTHING outside. 2) the toilet smells and is always 24/7 hot. It’s very tight and cramped. and once again like every other review we were only given two towels despite being three people. Normally hotels i’ve been to you get at least two towels per person the second one being a smaller towel??! 3) THE LIFTS. If you want clarity and a peace of mind please don’t even consider booking here! There are so many lifts but there are WAYY MORE people. You can wait for the lift for almost 1 HOUR 4) Lastly the distance. It’s not worth your money it’s a long walk and isn’t “5 minutes”! Frontbif house need better Customer service skills especially the lady at reception who when posed with a problem seems to uses gestures and arrogance as her way to deal with issues. The gentlemen and the service guys are very helpful and pleasant. Having stayed for a few days with several problems and then room changes this seemed to be common as many other guests had the same issue and same broken promises. For a hotel with ample rooms it seemed like they just couldn't be bothered. Broken telephones broken lights , lack of facilities and 1 iron to use amongst the hundreds of rooms and you won't get one for 3 days and even then you only can use for 1 hr, constant trips to reception but all broken false promises. The good things about the place is it is value for money and you could see that once upon a time it was 5 star but now pushing 3 stars. May Allah ease her life. The breakfast is good. The hotel is around 10-12 minutes to Haram. Room is big and toilet is clean.Aircond is superb. Wifi also very fast. Im grateful to found this hotel even is not like the nearest or higher star to masjid.. Its still a good and clean room. Also theres a lot of shop/food along the way to hotel from masjid. Terrible service and hotel management. Booked a 4 persons room, it was terrible as the beds were laid out in a very awkward position that left no other space in the hotel room, we barely had enough space to open our suitcases. The hotel management in general is poor, they don't clean the rooms properly. Everytime we ask for water bottles they either only give 2 or don't give any. We had a minor incident where we needed to check the CCTV footage for our floor, it took 3 days for us to finally get somewhere with this. Hotel manager is rude and walked off as we were speaking to him. The reception staff again is incompetent and does not seem to care about anything. The switches are really strange as the sockets are connected to the lights in the room, everytime u want to charge your phone etc u have to keep the light on which is really really strange. The only thing that was decent was the food. Breakfast and dinner items are always fresh and they change the dishes they make quite often . The tables are cleaned frequently and food gets replenished every time it finishes. Read less

This is a very good hotel compared to the other hotels in the vicinity. It’s located in Ibrahim Al Khalil street, about 1 Km walk from the Haram (about 15-20 minutes walk depending on your speed). I have booked a quad room. It was spacious, clean and doesn’t smell. It had street view, from the 8th floor, beds and linen were clean, bathroom was well maintained and clean. The room is spacious enough for the needs, there is a kettle and facility to make coffee, and there is a small fridge. Electronic card keys work fine with no issues. There is a small wardrobe / hanger for clothes. The single beds and mattresses are comfortable. I would give this room / hotel an overall rating of 8/10. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Check in was almost seamless with no issues. It did take few minutes longer to check in more than necessary, but compared to other hotels in the region and previous experiences, it was really good. It’s also situated in a convenient location with shops, food spots and money exchanges all next to it. Easy to get cabs as they all come outside of where the hotel is due to its location. Quba souq is also a 15 minute walk away. If you don't mind staying with a large number of other overseas pilgrim tour/jamaah (and their noise) then you'll be fine as the location is very close to haram (location is the only good thing, but still don't justify the high price as we could get to Sofitel with extra sar400 for 2 nights). We had to skip a number of lunch and dinner due to lift situation. We checked out while there were 200+ guests checked in and another 200+ checked out (overseas umra tour) so there was NO concierge availabe to help us amd the lifts were all full. The place literally in front of masjid nabawi and the food taste is really amazing. But the management should look into details some area that can be improve. For 1 card system - provide system for customer to easier to get the card. Yes do have the opportunity to get the card through stairs or lift. What about the older people, sick people, or some people who couldn't manage to get the card. Maybe you should provide the mobile apps that can give people to connect (customer service) with you guys since the line is quietly disappointed for some room. If the apps is quite pricey, maybe you can have it at 3-4 each level that can provide this card. It it call floor manager. But in the end, its a bit struggle to leave madinah. However when I came to Medina I was pleasantly surprised: the location was across from the women’s section of the masjid. As an old woman who had a hard time walking the staff took tremendous care of me. The manager Zain looked out for me for the 2 weeks I stayed in room 1114. The house keeping staff, Habib and Jalinder kept my room very clean. Last Ramadan I was in room 1003 and Hanif did very good service. This is the perfect place to stay for someone on a budget who wants to stay near haram. Read less

There are two Grand Plaza Al Madinah & Badr Al Maqam. We stayed at Al Madinah and as of location it’s worth it near to Haram Gate number 338-339 and to Ladies Entrance. The room and hotel is outdated and it’s not that value of money with this. Staff is not cooperative at all. If you ask for a help it will come after 1-2 hours. Our room lights were not working we called reception no one picked up then I went down to reception he said 10 mins someone will come up and I waited for almost 1 and half hour then a guy came to fix it with weird look on his face like I owned him money. The basement car parking is terrible really narrow entrance and it is full of smell. Overall trip not worth it with that amount of booking. Read less

They dont clean the room after asking for several times The intercom telephone down work, the lifts are very small and always crowded you have to wait for over 30 mins for lift The bell boys are very bad at their service it took 2 hours to bring the luggage. The house keepers are the wost, i stayed here 5 days the didn't clean the room for once after asking it for several times they didn't! Hotel seems like it’s falling apart. The housekeeping staff are bengali, and so are nice and fine. If you are looking to only sleep and reply to the call nature here , this hotel is okay. When we asked to fix the AC at first there was no one on the reception. Then they said that it ll be fixed at 9Am. The food was poor quality and the deserts were dry. I had one of the worst experiences staying at this hotel during Eid. Despite having a confirmed booking (with payment successfully processed), the hotel claimed they couldn’t find my reservation in their system when I arrived a few hours later than the check-in time. I spent over 2 hours at the reception trying to prove my booking, but the staff were unhelpful and dismissive. Eventually, they told me my only option was to pay again – double the amount – if I wanted a room. Since it was close to Eid prayer time and I had no alternative, I was forced to pay. To make things worse, the hotel manager was completely unreachable – ignoring both calls and messages when I tried to follow up on a refund. The customer service is appalling, and the staff lacked any professionalism or empathy. Eid is meant to be a joyful time, but this hotel completely ruined the experience for me. I would strongly advise others to stay away from this place. Terrible management, terrible service, and zero accountability. Read less

One of the worst hotels I have ever seen. Have us room 426, as soon as I walked in to the toilet it had a really nasty smell of people’s feces. The smell was really bad, it came out the air conditioner so air freshener did not work in this occasion. The elevators take so long to come down and upstairs. The staff are not very helpful. When asked for WiFi they said I would find the password upstairs. Went upstairs, wifi details were not there. This hotel is very disorganised. They cannot be giving a room with a bathroom that stinks and has issues, to people. After a long journey I just want to go to bed and sleep, I don’t have time and the energy to be chasing housekeepers and staff to fix and sort the issue. When I complained about it to the staff downstairs, he replied with ‘that’s fine I’ll be sending someone’ he did not ask about the room number which that’s where I knew he was not going to try to send someone over. I then asked him if he knew which room he was sending him in to see if he was actually going to do it. He said ‘yes’ and replied with a different number. This is very frustrating as I should not be waiting around for staff to fix the issue. DO NOT, I REAPT, DO NOT GIVE A ROOM THAT IS NOT READY TO CLIENTS. It’s absolutely disrespectful. Especially when you put your money and pay for a service. I should not be waiting around when I am shattered and exhausted from the journey. Honestly, only day one and worst experience. Read less

The hotel and rooms were clean, which I truly appreciated. However, there were some inconveniences that I believe could be improved. The elevators were quite slow, leading to long queues, especially during before-after prayer time. The room key had to be frequently reactivated at the reception, which was quite inconvenient as it required waiting in line again. Unfortunately, I experienced an issue in my bathroom, where the water suddenly started flooding. However, I appreciate the prompt response from the management. A staff member came to fix the issue and clean the bathroom, which I am grateful for. I hope the management takes these concerns into account to enhance the guest experience. Read less
