We had an amazing stay at Swissôtel Al Maqam Makkah and could not be happier with the experience. The hotel has excellent facilities and is extremely well maintained. The staff were genuinely kind, professional, and always willing to help. A special mention to the concierge team, who were consistently helpful and made everything easy for us throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard, which made a big difference in comfort. We were also very grateful to be offered a very late checkout at no additional cost — a level of flexibility and hospitality that was truly appreciated. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was one of the best — if not the best — I have tried in Makkah. There is a great variety of options, and the food is truly delicious. I also appreciated that they allow guests to take their coffee outside the restaurant. The hotel is family-friendly, with a nice section dedicated to children. The room was clean, comfortable, and well organized, with a beautiful view and a very peaceful atmosphere despite the busy area around the Haram. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and all the amenities were always replenished on time. What really stood out during my stay was the excellent housekeeping service. The room was cleaned perfectly every day, with great attention to detail and genuine care for guest comfort. Very convenient location and very good service. Clean, professional and timely service. When you arrive, your luggage is taken and delivered to your room while you check in. Water, dental hygiene kits, quality soap, shampoo, body wash, hand soap, lotion are provided along with plenty of towels. Cleaners visit regularly to check if you need more water or for cleaning. Low speed wifi is provided. If dinner is not part of the package, it is available for a charge of 120 Riyals, definitely worth it because it is a quality and healthy buffet. Read less

This was my first trip to do Umrah and I was accompanied by my elderly parents. Alhanouf was brilliant at check in recognising this and providing us with a room upgrade with a Haram view and complimentary breakfast. We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights the hotel is a great location for the Haram including having Kaaba views however there were a few things which can be improved. It is also worth knowing there are 2 lifts required to get to your room but the lifts are frequent but busy at times. 1. Our room had 4 beds was to solved in a day or so however no one came to remove the beds so we were very tight on space this was agreed at check in would be resolved 2. We had to ring housekeeping several times for them to bring towels to our room given room clean was not timely. 3. Even after requesting a room clean with the sign on the door no one would come so I would have to tell the housekeeping team I saw in other rooms to clean mine or call reception to get it cleaned sooner 4. I requested a staff member to send some zamzam to my room to which he agreed and it didn't come which is disappointing 5. The check in and check out process was not efficient as there was only 1 member on the front desk and therefore took a while which isn’t great 6. On check out we called 1 hour before we wanted to leave to ensure someone was there to bring our bags and no one came and also called again. In the end we had to go downstairs and only then someone came up with me 7. The breakfast process needs to be smoother by opening all 3 areas to make it easier for everyone the queues are very long and a lot of pushing and shoving which could be avoided. 8. The breakfast drinks are very limited and need to speak to the right people to request proper krak tea. The Moroccan supervisor was great I forgot his name and was very helpful to get us karak tea with milk. 9. When the food runs out on the counter it takes a long time for the staff to refill for example I was waiting for 5 mins for bread to be refilled Read less

The staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay, making me feel welcome and well taken care of. A special mention goes to Sazzad, the cleaner responsible for room 3220. The hotel’s proximity to the Haram is incredibly convenient—just take any elevator from the Clock Tower to P5, and you’re right there. Our room with a Kaaba view was beyond words—such a spiritually uplifting sight to wake up to each day. The shared mosque on P9 was another great feature, allowing us to pray in congregation with ease. I strongly suggest booking a package that includes breakfast or half board. The meals were varied, fresh, and perfect for families. What’s more, the pricing often covers two adults and two children, making it excellent value. A special mention to Mr. Mazen at the Front Desk—he made our stay even better. He’s extremely courteous, speaks English fluently, and always greeted us with a warm smile. His respectful and helpful manner really stood out. Mr. Adel at front seat while checkin was very professional, polite n humble with good command over English. Over all excellent staff in all areas. This is a nice hotel very close to the Kaaba. A short walk of 3 min leads you to the entrance of the grand mosque. The hotel is in a big mall which opens into the courtyard leading to the grand mosque. Elevators that are common to the mall and the hotel are busy. The hotel has its own elevators that take you down to the haram which are less busy. The food is good. Fresh fruit choice is limited to only apples and oranges sometimes watermelon. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Mohamed took good care of me as I worked on my laptop during breakfast. Thanks Mohamed! Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Only thing I would suggest is having the cleaners do a clean every day rather than having to ask every time. No major complaints. Only thing I would advise other guests about is you need to go early to prayers or you will get moved to the back of nabawi making your walk a little longer anyway. Read less

Special thanks to the Hotel Canteen Manager, Sohel, who took care of us with great professionalism and hospitality throughout our stay. Housekeeping staff member Palash was also very sincere and dependable, making sure our room was perfectly maintained every day. The hotel offered free breakfast and dinner buffets, and both were excellent with a great selection of food. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and hospitality were outstanding. I absolutely loved the location. Right outside the Haram gate #305. My mum & family loved the easy access to Haram and they could and would go every time they get a chance due to the ease of access. The room were also a decent size. The staff from reception to couple of the bell boys as well the cleaner Mr. Suboj & receptionist Mr. Haris were very helpful. They were also able to accommodate my request for a late checkout at 2pm. In terms of the negatives, I feel the toilets were too small & congested. The beds & pillows were very comfortable and I sometimes struggled to sleep as a result. Overall, I think it’s a great underrated property despite being ranked as a 3* but the facilities were good and the location was superb. I think the price could’ve been cheaper though as I paid a fair bit for it maybe because I booked very last minute. Read less

The staff were warm, professional, and consistently attentive, always greeting with a smile and ready to assist with any request. My room was immaculate, tastefully furnished, and incredibly comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and I really appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including plush robes, premium toiletries, and complimentary bottled water. Housekeeping maintained the room to the highest standard throughout my stay. One of the most memorable aspects was the breathtaking view of the Green Dome of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Mosque, a truly spiritual and serene sight. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious and well-prepared options to start the day. The location is absolutely ideal, just a short walk from Masjid Al-Nabawi, which made attending prayers and exploring the area incredibly convenient. I'd like to highlight Brother Suhail, the restaurant supervisor, an exceptionally kind and welcoming person. He made a point to visit every table, checking in to see if everything was okay or if anyone needed anything. Most importantly, he always had a warm smile on his face. The rest of the restaurant staff were also very pleasant and courteous. Mr. Javed, who was at the omelette station, stood out for his kindness and constant smile. We had a great stay at Mysk Al Balad. The hotel is clean, modern, and just a short walk to the Prophet’s Mosque — especially convenient for women’s and elderly persons. It’s right opposite to Gate No. 305 and Prophet’s Rawadah. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, close to shops and restaurants. Perfecto! I just visited with my wife and daughter to this hotel and it was very pleasant and enjoyed stay to this hotel even though we were mostly in Masjid Nabawi. The reception is very helpful and we were allowed to the early checkin (1 hour earlier). The location supperb just take a walk 5 minutes to the Haram Masjid Nabawi. The team is very helpfull as well without command they bring my bagage drop and pick up the goods until my room and vice versa. If any chance for sure will come back to this hotel. Read less

I stayed at this hotel for the second time last year and everything was perfect! At first we had an issue with the view at the room we stayed at and that was the only annoying thing but after speaking to the staff and explaining our situation, the staff was so nice to help us out!!! You can tell that they really care about their visitors! A special thanks to Taher, Sobuj and Sumon for their kindness, help and service! Another big thank you to the kind staff member who knew that I loved drinking apple juice and always brought it to my table from the kitchen even if it was not available in the dining room simply because he remembered who I was. We were surprised to see the view from our room.They upgrade our room to Rozaha view.we are very thankful for this and we all enjoyed all 3 days in madina with the religious spirit. The hotel was very close to Rozaha.The staff was very nice.The breakfast buffet was very outstanding. We spent in this hotel for 10 days with my wife in February. The restaurant service was excellent, especially Big Thanks for Suhail. It has been taken care of us when we had flu on the fifth day stayed. he made us remedy ginger, lemon, and honey without asking, and he knew if his clients needed it . The terrible case this hotel was, I had issues with the digital key cards. I don't understand why they didn't realize it and fix it right away since the first issue. It will be fine for us if only one or three times problems, but the big matter was, from the 10th floor, I had to go down and up to the front Desk total 17 times in ten days stayed just to asked them to fix or reactivate it. It's seems they ignored the problem.Also, the last three days of stayed, I asked one of the hotel stuff managers (forgot his name) to switch another room. But he refused it. The best thing about this hotel it so close to Haram. But, if I had issues like this, it made distance away far and late to do on time jama'ah... Read less

Room service was great, but the receptionists were terrible. My daughter was having a terrible headache so I called the front desk and asked for an ice pack. An ice pack. They did not have one. So I was like, fine, do you at least have ice? Apparently they don’t have ice either. My husband had to go to the pharmacy near the hotel to get my daughter an ice pack. He complained at the front desk and left to go get her the ice pack. When he came back to the room, his key card didn’t work. They literally disabled his key card. Also, besides that, rooms were tiny. We got a room with four twin sized beds and the window was literally A fourth of the wall. We didnt get a good view or anything but whatever. Bathroom was tiny, you couldn’t really move around comfortably. But room service was great, always cleaned properly and everything. Read less

Just checked out today I must say agree with all the other reviews. Excellent customer service which is rare in Saudi. Breakfast was top of the range and the restaurant manager was simply awesome. Abu Shaheen in concierge arranged transport for me and my family at cost price. Beat all other quotes. He ensured all bags was duly collected from our room and loaded in the minibus. Anything you need just ask, another concierge person told me where to buy dates at a good price. I probably saved 400 SAR. So overall amazing hotel and service I am definitely rebooking them again insha allah. Read less

Restauran food are very good..A lot of variety you can choose.. only no coffee or tea provided during lunch and dinner. Staff very friendly. Alot of shop lot around the hotel. It's on the opposite end of the ladies entrance to the Masjid so it's a small walk. Rooms were tidy, spacious and neat. Tiny fridge wasn't sufficient.
