Tons of options and variety every single night with top notch service. Location is also great. Takes about 4 mins to walk to the haram (near the extension, I used to go to gate 66 which was very close). Just walk straight through Hilton convention hotel for the quickest route. But they even have a free shuttle service to get you to the haram which literally runs all day and night at every 5 minutes. Literally, every 5 minutes. Read less

The hotel location is perfect and very convenient, especially for getting around easily. That said, don’t expect a perfect Haram view it’s good to manage expectations there. The buffet staff were kind and helpful, and service was smooth. A couple of things worth noting for future guests: • Zain mobile network does not work well inside this hotel, so it’s not worth purchasing if you’re staying here. • If you’re hoping for early check-in, be aware that there is an extra fee. This is my second stay at the DoubleTree Makkah hotel….. First one was in October 2024 and it was a positive experience, my second stay was in August 2025, and it wasn’t the same as my first one DoubleTree is a new and comfortable hotel. The team is cooperative, kind, and welcoming, which is something that truly stands out compared to many other hotels in Makkah. However, there are a few important areas that require improvement: 1. Mattresses: The mattresses are extremely soft, which is quite unusual for a newly opened hotel. It raises the question — how did the mattresses lose their firmness so quickly? Unfortunately, this caused back pain during our stay. 2. Housekeeping & Cleanliness: We stayed for 6 nights, and during that time, the bed sheets and duvet covers were never changed. Housekeeping standards need to be raised significantly. Even basic cleaning such as vacuuming the floor was not done during our stay. 3. Breakfast: The breakfast is boring and repetitive, with almost no variation day to day. There’s no interesting food presentation or appealing options. The quality is quite basic, and no premium items are offered at all. It got to the point where my children decided not to eat breakfast, and my husband and I would skip it if we were tired, as it simply wasn’t worth waking up for. Despite these points, the hotel remains comfortable, and the price is reasonable compared to other hotels in Makkah. I highly recommend booking through a Saudi travel agency, as their prices are significantly better than what is available on hotel booking websites. 4. Panda Supermarket: A major convenience is that there is a Panda supermarket accessible directly from the hotel lobby. This was extremely useful, as we didn’t need to go out to other supermarkets near the Haram. You can easily do your shopping right from the hotel, which adds great value to the stay. 5. Hotel Towers: The hotel consists of two towers — Makkah Tower and Madinah Tower. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend choosing the Madinah Tower over the Makkah Tower. It was more for better view ⸻ Tips for Accessing the Haram: It is advisable to head to the Haram 45–60 minutes before prayer time. The hotel offers a shuttle bus that runs for about 3 minutes and drops you near the elevator of Souq Al-Khalil in the Jabal Omar area. From there, it’s a short walk to the Haram via Ibrahim Al-Khalil Street. Another and in my opinion better route is to enter the Hilton Convention Hotel, which is opposite DoubleTree. From the Hilton lobby, there is a direct elevator access to the Haram. The housekeeping staff especially Mr. Ashraf was very helpful and took good care of us. He came by everyday to clean our room and provide water bottles and fresh towels. We promised to make up for our terrible experience by booking in a prestigious high profile hotel, our choice was Hilton Double Tree Jabal Omar. Location: Was great all in all compared to other hotels, it’s approximately 500 meters away from the haram. Rooms: Our room was pretty pristine and clean, so dirt was to be found, the beds and sheets were spotless. The view from the windows was mesmerizing. Service: Service was great, no complaints at all. The staff are very attentive to the needs of the guests. Restaurant: Food was palatable and good, but nothing special. It does lack variety, it could use more protein. I’m so grateful for the excellent service and the great welcoming attitude from all hotel staff especially Ms. Mardia in reception and Islam in concierge. Bus transportation to and from Haram was always available 24 hours. The breakfast was amazing and diversified. The welcoming cookies was so delicious. Rooms were so clean and new. The negative thing here is that there's a constant stench from the drainage holes in the bathrooms, it's very disgusting. It's a short walk to the Haram and the hotel pro ides a bus shuttle to convey the elderly as well. The shuttle isn't reliable however and clients have to join the shuttle for the nearby Marriot and Hilton hotels. It would be good if the management can work harder on the housekeeping service and the rooms aren't exceptionally cleaned by the staff. I'm not even sure the housekeeping staff use an hoover there's dirt on the floor. I had to request a room change due to cleanliness. Y Read less

Moreover their phone line is never responding as I desperately tried calling them to inquire on this surprising change!! Room is nice bed is nice the location is super good very near to the entrance of masjid Nabawi (gate 333) . My agency booked me a hotel within the same company, and at that previous lobby I was waiting for room, and could see that staff at reception no smile, no care, and concierge were racist and not helpful at all, with crowd and an elevator that go stuck and Engineer that take 20 min to come to fix it, so i got scared and asked my agency to chance hotel, and even if I had to pay some difference I never regret it. The receptionist Abdullah and Abdulrahman had a very good customer care. Lobby even with crowed was managed properly and welcoming drinks was available. Room service options and promotions are to take, no point to eat outside trust me, you pay same at the hotel with good portion and service and very delicious food either broasted chicken, or the meat byriani, so delicious. The breakfast has many options and egg live station, and the manager was going everywhere to check that things are smooth, during crowd today they opened buffet in 1st floor plus the M floor and it was well organized as well. Last and not least, housekeeping in our floor 2nd was good and willing to assist. Again with a genius smile. Thank you everyone for the effort you making. This does not go un-noticed. The hotel is overpriced their service isn't top notch and doesn't give you that luxury feel, they are only charging this much due to being nearer to Haram (10 min walk); the internet service is going to give you a headache (literally it's that bad). The rooms smell of cigarettes and the pillows and bedcovers are just dirty, they don't give a nice feel at all. The pillows are too hard aswell I was literally using the extra blanket in the room as a pillow for the 8 days I stayed here. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone really, never booking this again. PS. Don't fall for the pictures they have posted, the real thing is quite different. Read less

I feel this hotel in needs to upgrade in many ways as I been told that all rooms have this bath tub showers which is not up dated as a walk in shower is more suited because I see lots of guests elderly and on the bath tub showers one fall or slip is dangerous no rail to hold so hope the hotel changes this. As fir other we are 3 guests and have only two cups fir tea or coffee and when asked I was told each rooms has 3 lol like a joke toilet paper u are given two gir 3 or more people another joke tea bags same 2 3 or more that the amount of tea bags and sugar u get reading all reviews there is lots of improvement to be done overall from management to bell boy ethics service communication and humility I been here and I see lots of tourists but they are elderly they need guidance so staff need to know language and knowledge to handle it care fir elderly people. It was awful. The rooms were a disgrace. I am currently staying at this hotel and there has been constant issues the second we checked in. The entire room smelt of cigarettes despite asking for assistance from staff. We asked to change rooms yet there was the same situation. The bathroom was horrible with mould marks everywhere. Clearly nothing has been cleaned before we came in because the floors and the doors were very dirty. The shower was absolutely disgusting, the water kept falling out everywhere. The toilet seat broke which we had to call housekeeping for and yet there was issues with it. Hygiene levels need to be improved immediately as we felt very uncomfortable from the very beginning. There is very limited supply of products. In a 4 guest bedroom, they only provide one toilet tissue and when asked for more they always get very hesitant. This is for sure not a 5 star hotel it is more a 1 star. Read less

The staff were uninterested and unhelpful, providing little to no assistance throughout our stay. The rooms were in an appalling state. The bathrooms were outdated, dirty, and barely functional, with showerheads that hardly worked. The mattresses were filthy, and, to make matters worse, several members of our group ended up covered in bed bug bites. The entire hotel had an unpleasant, stale odor that made it difficult to relax. We requested a room change due to a strong fishy smell in the first room, only to be moved to another room where we experienced the bed bug infestation. If cleanliness, comfort, and decent service matter to you, avoid this hotel at all costs. While the location is convenient, nothing else about this place is worth the stay. If I could give it zero stars, I would. It's a shame, because this was once a very good hotel. Read less

I’ve had the best experience in Shaza back in October. I’m very surprised to see the recent negative reviews though. I booked it from booking dot com and had no trouble paying at the property. Our quad room was spacious, clean and new looking. We were greeted with juices and check in was swift. We were also given complimentary fruit platter on arrival. I thought it was a one time thing only but they delivered another fruit platter to our room two days later again which was a nice surprise. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We got our rooms cleaned whenever we wanted. The breakfast buffet was really lovely too. They have live egg station but no pancakes one. Although pan cakes and french toasts are available in buffet everyday. Karak tea was being offered by a very friendly waiter everyday who made friends with my teenage son and made sure my mum got hot tea every morning. The customer relation desk lady (forgot the name) used to call us on our room telephone to check up on us every day and to see if we needed anything. In short I absolutely loved staying there and will book it again in a heartbeat as it’s only 5-6 minutes straight walk to the gate 333/334/335. Read less

I stayed at this hotel for six days, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The room size was good, especially for a group of four. We had a four-bed room, which we converted into a master bedroom, and it provided us with ample space, even for dining in between. The location is also convenient, as it takes around 5 to 6 minutes to reach the Haram. I wouldn’t call it a bad hotel at all, and it served its purpose well for our stay. Read less
