The rooms are always well-maintained, the check-in process is smooth, and the staff consistently go above and beyond to make my stays enjoyable. I would especially like to recognize Monir Yousuf from the restaurant staff for his outstanding service. He is always professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. His positive attitude and attention to detail truly enhance the dining experience and make guests feel valued. We recently stayed at the Hilton convention in February, just before Ramadan. Let’s be clear- This is not 5 star by any means. Maybe a solid 4 star The positives are that the breakfast is great (at breakfast, Aktaruzzaman was attentive and lovely!). Also that the cleaning and food service staff are friendly and happy to help. The location is good ( just a small uphill walk that can be tiring but still very close) The partial view from our room of the haram was enjoyable. The negatives are; The main desk staff can often be busy as there have only ever been two available at a time- so it takes longer to be seen. They can sometimes be a-little rude. The phone in our room wasn’t working - I asked if it could be replaced but it didn’t happen. The iron wasn’t working but that was surprisingly replaced quickly when asked. The kettle didn’t work always. Some of our plugs also didn’t work in our room and made a crackling sound when used. Our room had some small bits that also needed fixtures like the cracked light shade in the bathroom or the tear in the lamp (maybe I’m being picky but if you call yourself 5….) Read less

The hotel is immaculately clean, peaceful, and perfectly located just a few minutes’ walk from the Haram – making it ideal for anyone visiting for Umrah or Hajj. The rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished, with breathtaking views of the Holy Mosque. The overall atmosphere is calm and respectful, which made our spiritual journey even more meaningful. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to MD Parvez from housekeeping. He always greeted us with a warm smile and ensured that our room was spotless and well-stocked every day. His kindness and dedication did not go unnoticed. A special mention also goes to Yousef Abu Alqasim, a breakfast waiter who truly made our mornings brighter. Every day, without fail, he brought us fresh fruit juice with a kind smile and genuine hospitality. We booked breakfast as well, and I must say there were so many varieties to choose from, and your plate was never empty. It was delicious. I also ordered room service for my son, who only has English food and didn't want to take him out to feed him, but me and my husband and I enjoyed our traditional foods outside. Room service food was a delight, and my son really enjoyed it. They also rang to get feedback, which I thought was very nice. My visit at the hotel was for 3 days and to be precise the view of the room was fantastic; we can go towards haram from the hotel itself on foot and there was not much issue with the room. The chick in procedure could take a while as for some new guests should confirm about parking is included in there stay or not. One thing that they should have done is there was no security guard to guide for parking in basement and there is a slope at the parking entrance which whole entering during the day is not much visible, I would like if the hotel came with a solution for that. Apart from one or 2 issues the rest of my stay was good. Read less

According to my family this room is perfect. The hotel service is very good, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is delicious, especially the Falafel which has a savory taste. In the afternoon and evening, we went to the lounge for Afternoon Tea and dinner. The dinner is very good, especially if there is rice. For the distance to the mosque, it is close but too uphill so the feet get sore easily. Basically, it's the best here! Read less

Absolutely amazing stay and brilliant service! In-detail review below: Check-In Experience 5/5 We were a family of 5 (Adults) and we checked in around 12.30am and the hotel lobby was quiet. Luggage was offloaded by the staff and taken inside and was told to check-in at the reception. Was greeted well and I provided by booking details to the receptionist. He was very attentive and answered any questions I had. As we had two rooms booked, he asked if we would like to have the rooms on the same floor. Paid the remainder of the rooms via credit card which went smoothly. Took around 10 minutes for the whole check in process which was very good. Rooms 4/5 Rooms were perfect and clean. We were given a 4-bed room for 3 of us which was ample. and a 2-queen bed for the ladies. View was partial haram which was good. Some amenities listed on Booking.com were not present such as the slippers and bathrobe but we weren't too concerned about these. Only given 4/5 for this because someone else might require these amenities and if they are listed they should be provided but weren't big of a deal for us. Also one out of the two rooms booked did not have any drinks or snacks in the mini fridge although the other room did. Laundry Service 5/5 Quick and efficient and offered us free ironing and folding which are usually charged. Could not complain about this service as it was perfect as you'd expect. Customer Service 5/5 Calls from the room landline were answered immediately and always helpful on the other side. All queries answered thoroughly. Shuttle Service 4/5 24-Hour shuttle is a good service to provide, however was not as expected as it only takes you to the flat part near the shops at the bottom. Does not take you the front of the marbled area of the masjid. So you still need to walk around 4-5 minutes to get to the marbled area. Sometimes takes very long to come especially in the late night hours between 1 and 4am. Read less

I was booked at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel and when I arrived in Makkah I was transferred to the Hilton Convention Hotel without prior notice or a letter stating that the hotel will be changed. I had to wait in the lobby of the hotel for three hours after a long travel trip under the pretext that my reservation information had not been transferred from the first hotel (Double Tree) even though the hotel had been booked a whole week in advance. I just want to notice that it will be my first and last experience of this bad hotel The rating on the reservation sites page and Google Maps will be poorly rated + never mention this place to anyone Regards , Read less

The guys also for the morning Sahoor again were just outstanding the food and options were amazing. It’s shame I can’t eat much in the Morning as I wanted to try everything. All made fresh the rooms were spacious and clean and 2’mins away from the Mosque. Just absolutely superb and can’t thank the team enough for making my stay perfect once again. Mr.Reazul, F&B in charge has taken great care of us from the beginning along with his colleagues such as Mr. Ibrahim at the restaurant who would regularly check to see if we needed anything when having our breakfast. However, 3 months before my trip, the hotel cancelled my reservation for no acceptable reason. Initially they cited a policy issue, then said it was a legal issue citing Hajj regulations and then stopped responding. I made several enquiries with travel agents and the Saudi consulate and they all confirmed there are no legal restrictions on visiting Madinah during Hajj season. The only restrictions apply to the city of Makkah. I also contacted IHG elite member support, and they sided with the hotel, repeating that it's due to a legal issue without providing any evidence or documents of the associated regulations. I just completed my trip on my originally planned dates and stayed at the Sofitel Shahd al Madinah instead. There was no legal issue that would have required the hotel to cancel my reservation - as evidenced by the fact that I was able to stay at another hotel during the same dates. I am a diamond elite ambassador member and it’s shocking and disappointing that this is the way I was treated. I contacted IHG elite member support and they refused to help and came up with a different reason for the cancellation each time I tried, and eventually stopped responding. I highly recommend the Sofitel in Madinah. It is closer to Masjid Nabawi than the Intercontinental and the staff and service are excellent. InterContinental hotels in general are excellent, and Dar Al-Hijra Hotel in Medina in particular is my first choice for several reasons, all of which met my needs. The most important of these are: * Location, * The spaciousness and size of the suites (Royal Suite # 910), their cleanliness, and their fully equipped kitchen and a private room for the maids, * The availability of multiple elevators, including private elevators for the suites, which is a great help during rush hour and prayer times, * Cleanliness and organization, * Parking availability, * The friendliness and responsiveness of the staff. I would like to especially mention Ms. Iman Al-Ahmadi at the reception for her excellent service, kindness, and prompt check-in and check-out procedures. Thanks to her and to all staff. My friend and I recently stayed here and we both loved our time here. The service was absolutely excellent and they frequently like to check in to make sure that everything is going well for you. Complimentary fruits were brought upon arrival and were so sweet. The rooms and sheets were also all so incredibly clean. The only thing that seemed to be quite dirty was the curtains, but we barely touched those. The only other downsides of the room was that the walls were thin so you could hear neighbors all around you very easily, and the carpet and doors seem to be really old, so it's not the most aesthetically pleasing design. And as you go upstairs the air quality can get really Humid and damp in the hallways, but it's fairly well controlled in the room. Overall I'd still say this is a super reliable place to stay. Service was easily a 10/10. They helped us out so much from room service cleaning, to ordering from the restaurant, and front desk staff. The concierge employee, Mohammed Ali, was particularly helpful with getting us a taxi on our last day when we were running late and needed more time and support with catching our train. Overall we loved our experience and would definitely stay here again. Read less

On top of that, the service from start to finish was excellent. They really care about customer service and are striving hard to maintain high quality. Would definitely recommend! Room was excellent. We had suhoor and the food was excellent filled with various options including made to order omelettes and pancakes. Lots of variety that changed daily. The first morning we arrived, two of my kids were quite sick and we were dreading going to the clinic or hospital especially given how tired we were after 24 hours of travel. Luckily the front desk arranged for a doctor to come to our room and not only diagnosed but also administer an injection on my daughter and prescribe antibiotics. Read less

Very convenient location. We stayed five nights in one of the suits at the ninth floor. Overall experience was very good and we all loved it. The suit was very spacious but not at the same standard as in US. It needs some upgrades. But it was clean and live-able. The big plus was the breakfast and we all enjoyed all of the fancy choices. Getting a wheelchair from the hotel was no problem and we kept it for the duration of our stay. They hotel also arranged a private taxi to take us to some sites, and he was best guide ever. However, the room keys constantly needed reprogramming so every time you needed to get into your room you needed to go to the front desk for a new key. This seemed to be a problem for multiple guests as there was often a queue of people wanting new keys. The rooms were also not very clean. The cleaning staff did not clean the room well during our stay either. We had to ask for it to be vacuumed, for clean cups/glasses and for fresh towels repeatedly. Overall I would not recommend this hotel based on the lack of cleanliness of the rooms. Read less
