What stood out at Emaar was how close it is to the Haram, which made daily visits simple. The hotel felt fairly busy but organized, and staff handled requests reasonably well. It would suit pilgrims or travelers who mainly want a convenient place to stay.

hotel has an excellent location and is very close to the Haram, which made our stay convenient. Some staff members were also kind and helpful. However, the cleanliness needs improvement. There were flies in the room and throughout the hotel, and the room smelled like smoke even though it was not labeled as a smoking room. The rooms and bathrooms are also outdated, and the bathroom was very small. There was noise during the night, and staff knocked on our door multiple times. Although we were approved for a 2-hour late checkout, this was not communicated among staff. Someone also entered our room while we were asleep, which felt like an invasion of privacy. Overall, while the location is great, guests can likely find other hotels in the same area at a similar price with better quality. I hope management improves cleanliness, communication, and guest privacy.

It was really good. Nice. Clean. Good breakfast. Most importantly: the location was just down the road from the Haram, about 500 metres away. For the price we paid I'd say it was excellent. I'd stay here again. Of course if you're there to relish in the luxury of Dunyā and are willing to spend stupid money on indulging yourself rather than helping those in need... There are plenty of hotels available in the clock tower.

The only good thing about my experience at this hotel was the cleaner not gonna say his name but lovely friendly helpful guy. The reception staff were diabolical have no respect for guests who pay money to stay at their rubbish hotel. Distance not so great 15 minute walk to haram (casual walk) The bell boys think they’re something they’re not. Overall bad hotel bad experience and an absolute joke. Never again. Don’t use this hotel absolute shambles

When giving reviews you always have to think about what you paid when comparing to others..last year we stayed in the grand emaar opposite this hotel that was slightly bigger rooms and better breakfast but the key cards kept losing the codes if you put it near your phone, the going down to reception waiting for the lifts so annoying . not had that problem with this hotel Google review said 1 star ..come on it's not that bad..3 star at least..our room a/c was not giving the 16c temp we selected, told one of the staff they came spent about a hour cleaning the ac filters and now cool air a bit too cold at night so have to adjust the temp. The breakfast very basic but plenty of seating area no chief to make hot food such as scrambled eggs with your choice of toppings..fruit juice only orange ..but just checking online with Agoda the price is half of the grand emaar..

Worst experience in a hotel ever. Had to deal with the worst receptionist who refused to directly engage with me and was extremely ruse and even when the general manager of the hotel intervened she refused to process my hotel reservation. Then she went and another guy cane who processed our hotel booking and that happened after i pushed hard with the agency guy who had booked me. After this the room was neither clean nor comfortable as such. For two days there was no cleaning and no cleaning and I asked a cleaning boy and he refused to clean the room saying my shift is over. And then next day he didn’t clean either. Very rude staff overall and not a pleasant stay at all. Also if you have an elderly person with you don’t stay here as its a fair distance from haram for pushing a wheel chair and in the day heat you will be exhausted. So please avoid staying at this hotel at any cost

Decent hotel Good location near haram and the markets the rooms are clean there are a lot of elevators but they're all stacked at prayer times i tried the buffet it's good but I didn't like how the Indonesian workers wait infront of you to take your plates and you can't eat in peace. for a one star hotel I think it's very good

Very disappointing experience. The washroom had cockroaches, and basic amenities such as water, tea, coffee, and a dental kit were not provided. Water was dripping from the ceiling in the washroom, which was extremely unhygienic. The hotel is located quite far from Haram—at least a 15 to 20-minute walk. The staff at the reception were not helpful at all. We could hear a loud, disturbing noise from the window, like a machine running, even at midnight. The hotel entrance looks appealing, but it’s clearly just a tactic to attract customers. Overall, the hotel is poorly maintained and not worth the stay.

Hotel Reception The reception area resembled a grand palace, with stunning chandeliers, marble décor, and comfortable seating areas. They even provided massage chairs, which was a nice touch. However, using them lacked privacy, as they were placed in a spot where everyone entering could see you. Staff were friendly and professional. Hotel Rooms The room itself was spacious and clean. However, the fridge was awkwardly placed in the hallway near the entrance, which was inconvenient, it would have been better positioned inside the main room. The biggest disappointment was the bathroom. It was extremely small, likely due to poor room layout. The space used for the wardrobe could have been better utilized to expand the bathroom. The shower cubicle was cramped, and water would leak onto the bathroom floor. Although we booked a non-smoking room, there was a persistent smell of cigarettes, particularly in the bathroom. Additionally, we noticed flies in the room, which was unpleasant. Getting quality sleep was also a challenge. The corridors were not carpeted, so noise from people walking and talking echoed throughout the night. The constant slamming of doors was particularly disturbing. Soft-closing doors would have made a significant difference. Very good location.

good location could walk to the haram/ clock tower in about 10 minutes, really helpful in the hot sun. the rooms were definately on the older side, same with the bathroom. The breakfast was perfectly fine, nothing fancy just fine. totally acceptable if you have north american standards and want a budget stay in makkah.

There were so many complaints- a lady had no hot water for 3 days! This please should not be allowed to operate, I have had to raise this with Hajj Ministry to protect other Pilgrims!! Breakfast is rubbish! Avoid at all costs!!!

Trust me I couldn’t give it more than 2. The rooms are nice and spacious no doubt about that but the washrooms are really small and creepy the shower cabin is unbearable trust me plus the one things that made me furious was the internet or wifi because internet is the worst here and when I say worst I mean THE WORST its slow and its so bad I even complained about it a few times but it was of no avail so I’d recommend you going for Emaar Grand which is opposite to it but if you haven’t got an option than you’re on your own to make a decision.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. Don’t waste your hard earned cash in this awful hotel. In such a blessed place yet the worst staff I have ever come across. Rude and useless. Do they even have cleaners? They never come to the rooms nor do they ever clean the hotel. There’s a main focus on the lobby. That was rearranged and cleaned almost everyday during my stay. The toilets are absolutely vile. Constant smell that would make anyone feel sick. The toilet and the shower are awful. The tap was broken the drains were full of hair. Would not recommend.

I don’t know where to start, but this is the worst hotel ever. The cleanliness is none existent, the toilet and walk in shower is absolutely filthy, it’s a disgrace. The drain in the toilet smells, just the worst. It’s like it’s been here since the early 80s. The room itself is digesting, the beds are broken, the mattresses are ridiculous, rather sleep on the floor. The cleaners never ever come to clean. I’ve sent 5 days here now and not once has a cleaner come in to clean. IF SOMEONE OFFERS YOU THIS HOTEL FOR FREE, DO NOT TAKE IT. Don’t pay your hard earned money for this pathetic place.
Location wise good but the room has no enough space to put the luggages even. Staffs were nice with me.

Terrible to say the least..I could write pages To keep it short..RECEPTION staff are unhelpful, unprofessional (saw one of them tutting at an old man at reception), it seems like they are totally unbothered absolutely the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Hotel rooms are dirty (we stayed in two different ones), shower water was cold, on the first night there were issues with the toilet. The bell boys were excellent, very helpful only good thing about our stay, thank you so much

Booked the hotel with a good impression with nice lobby view with the most TERRIBLE service I have ever felt. The receptionist are the worst, they are negligent, unproffessional, and have a selfish personality. They treat customers as trash that only bothers their free time, I asked for new towels on the next day (since I have not got any from room service) and they did not even confirmed it to me again and just said "yalla!" With a "go away" gesture, and of course the towel never came. And that's not all of it, even the content room looks old and weary, especially the bathroom, drippy faucet pipes (causing repetitive wetness in the bathroom floors), small space to bath, bad drainage system, and so on. It only looks nice in the lobby. There are also 8 lift but every one of them go down/up for like 7-10 minutes of waiting and some of the lift doors are broken. The phone room also does not work properly. The only good thing is that the room service (which have to be approached in person, not by asking the reception) is nice and at least have some decency towards customers even though there are problems such as language barriers. The bell boys do help sometimes when it comes to bringing the bags (well they are supposed to do that anyways), even though at many times they also neglect their other jobs such as helping opening the lobby door when customers are walking in with bags, etc. Conclusion : Not recommended for family travels, or any travels with more than 2 people. TERRIBLE service especially by THE RECEPTIONISTS. (0 star if there such a thing) Do not know about the food. Bathroom is a 2 star for me (being generous). Room is quite spacious but looks weary and old. Distance between Masjidil Haram is at medium range (not recommended for staying at ramadhan or hajj due to the blockage of roads at praying times) No reception (signal) in rooms, the wifi is also bad. Many lift but not spacious and long waiting time.

Please avoid at all costs, this hotel beyond the lobby is disgusting. Not clean, basic amenities do not work and staff customer service is atrocious. The staff do not care and staying here a week made me very ill. Bad smells from the toilets, gutters, no cleaning! Bathrooms are a state, cracked tiles, showers/boilers leaking, windows do not operate. Even the tour operator didn’t care, so why should the hotel? Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. This hotel needs demolishing!

Very bad experience. The rooms are dirty, there's no room service, and the reception staff doesn't listen to anything. Not suitable for a family stay. But if you're alone or all-men group, it is a reasonable option on a limited budget. It's almost a 20 min walk to King Fahad gate from the hotel, so make sure you leave early
The room wasn't conjested but the washroom wasn't clean refrigerator had bad smell and room service was hard to get

Had a wonderful stay at Astoneeast Taiba Hotel (Artal International). The location is absolutely fabulous — just a 3-minute walk to Masjid an-Nabawi, and the women’s entrance is right there, which made everything so convenient and comfortable. The rooms were very, very nice — clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully done. It made our stay peaceful and stress-free. Highly recommended, especially for families and women travelers who want easy access to the Haram.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to Masjid Nabawi, which made it easy for us to attend prayers regularly. The surrounding area also has many food options and shops, so everything was accessible. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Housekeeping did a good job throughout our stay, and the overall environment felt calm and suitable for a religious trip. Staff were polite and helpful whenever we needed assistance. Overall, we were satisfied with our experience and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Madinah, especially for Umrah or ziyarat trips.

Wonderful experience! Our Check in was smooth, we even got an upgrade as we were 3 women in attendance. The room was spacious. The beds clean, bathroom was big. The staff were super nice despite it being a busy season. The location plays the bigger role as its only a 5 minute walk from the womens gate 338 in Masjid Al Nabawi. There are so many restaurants nearby. The staff were considerate to our needs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Disappointing Housekeeping Overshadows an Otherwise Decent Budget Stay: My family stayed at Artal International Hotel for 7 nights in August. Based on the photos on Booking.com, we expected a modern, well-maintained hotel—especially considering the competitive pricing compared to other properties near the Prophet’s Mosque. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the presentation. The hotel itself is clearly outdated. While the facilities are functional, they fall short of the expectations set by the online images. That said, for the price point, the accommodation is passable—if you're prepared to lower your standards. However, the most unacceptable aspect of our stay was the housekeeping. We were on the 13th floor, and not once during our entire week did a housekeeper show up. Despite direct communication with staff, the room was never cleaned. This level of neglect is simply inexcusable and reflects poorly on the hotel's management and service standards. Aside from the housekeeping issue and lifts (they tend to stop on every floor during rush times) the hotel is tolerable for budget-conscious travelers. You do eventually adjust to the environment, but guests should be aware that basic services may not be reliably provided.

I stayed for one night and everything was fine, but I have a few comments: 1. The bathroom was okay, but the shower area was too small. While bathing, water spills out into the rest of the bathroom, and there was no wiper provided to clean the floor. 2. Usually, hotels of this category provide room slippers, but unfortunately, they didn't. So it's better to bring your own slippers for using the bathroom. 3. There was a continuous beep sound in the room, which made sleeping and resting a bit uncomfortable. I think it was coming from the smoke detector. Overall, the staff behavior was excellent, especially at the reception. They treated guests very well — that part I really appreciated. 👍

We already said on counter that when we need we’ll call. But he knocked & tried to open the door with his card. That was ridiculous. Otherwise everything is well & fine.

Very Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at Artal International Hotel in Medina was deeply disappointing and needs to be shared. The overall condition of the hotel was shockingly poor. From the moment we entered, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority—the rooms were dusty, the bathrooms were dirty, and basic housekeeping seemed completely neglected. The fans didn’t work, and the air circulation in the rooms was awful, making the stay extremely uncomfortable, especially in the Medina heat. To make matters worse, the staff were rude and unhelpful. Any request was met with indifference or outright attitude, and it felt like we were inconveniencing them just by asking for basic things that should have been provided in the first place. It’s sad to say, but the hotel is in an unacceptable state, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. If you’re looking for a peaceful and clean stay in Medina, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

This hotel was a terrible experience. The rooms and restrooms were very dirty and not properly cleaned. Customer service was unprofessional – the staff had a hard time communicating in English and were often rude. Although the listing says there’s a restaurant, there isn’t one. On top of that, I experienced racist behavior from some of the staff, which is completely unacceptable. There are many other hotels available at this price that offer much better service and cleanliness. I will never stay here again and I do not recommend it to anyone

We stayed at Artal international hotel, Madina between 13th to 20th April. Ahmed, who was at the reception is a very helpful and courteous person. The rooms are spacious, with hot water round the clock. The location of hotel is good and walking distance, basically 2 lanes away from gate number 338 which is woman's prayer area. There are many gift shops, and minimarkets, restaurants around, including MacDonald and starbucks. There is a book stall DareZamann near gate 338.It has some good books on Islam, however Quran is expensive( which we did not buy). The jaynamaz is costly in madina I think, I found Mecca cheaper ( however I may be wrong). There is a wholesale market for dates and spices called Sabzi mandi.I would suggest this.It costs 15 riyals by taxi. There is a Jarir book store near masjide qiblatain mosque. Bought some books ( though not the Quran, as it was expensive) I think it is a good hotel for that price. Don't expect great service from the hotel, it's location is the usp for the price. We had booked through tour, so food and laundry was included in package. There are many laundry shops nearby, for direct booking. They accept agoda and expedia. Try bargaining for hop_in cabs and local shops, as first quote is higher. Do visit Badr for ziyarat.A bus ride per person is 30 sar in a tour bus.it is 170 kms away, but totally worth it. May Allah bless you and grant you your prayers.Inshallah and Ameen. Do remember me in your prayers.

Very good location as it is close the main gate of the Masjid and has access to lots of food places. Only issue with the hotel is the room service. We have been here for 7 nights now (looking to stay 9 nights) and have gotten our room cleaned only twice. The only reason I can think of why we might not be getting it cleaned often is due to not tipping the cleaners enough, or maybe it’s the hotel in general. We have asked the people at the desk many times, the only thing they can do is promise they’ll clean it tomorrow. However, would still recommend for those that are not too fussed about little bits of dirt in the bathroom and bedroom. Make sure to ask the cleaners you may see on the floor of the hotel for bath towels should they need changing.

The customer service is the worst. We entered the hotel yesterday and since then we have been asking to get the room changed because the bathroom is pathetic. The door was not opening from the inside, the sink is dripping water and the shower is also draining water out in the entire washroom. The toilet lid is broken. We have been trying to get the issues fixed but the service is pathetic. We are here to pray, not to spend all the time in fixing these issues. We cannot even make wuzu in the dirty washroom. The receptionist is not willing to change the room even when there is availability. The only good thing is the location which other hotels have too. this was an expensive hotel with the most pathetic experience. This is also a 3 bed room which is given to us as 4 bed room. Which makes it so congested that we can't even walk
